I've been vaping for about 3 years but not consistently until recently, I haven't smoked a cigarette in 47 days. The difference for me has been in the sub-ohm-tanks as I get terrifically satisfying flavor, vapor and portability from these devices. I have the Arctic, Atlantis, Starre Pro, Crown, and TFV4, all being run on Sigelei's.

My only problem is that ALL of these tanks seem to accumulate juice in their chimneys which in turn is transferred to my mouth in very small amounts when I take a pull. It's not much but it's enough to taste and I can see it when I look down the chimney. I don't mean furious spitting, which I've had a a result of user error (mostly a flooded coil or tank that has not been properly tightened), this is much more subtle but is nonetheless annoying because it makes me feel like I'm drinking the juice instead of vaping it. My solution to this has been to occasionally, 6-7 times per day, roll up a napkin and push it down the chimney to clean up the juice.

I'm trying to determine if this is common or if I'm doing something wrong with ALL of my tanks that is causing this. Anyone with experience or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What you're tasting could possibly be condensation rather than the juice itself. Clean the inside of the drip tip fairly frequently and see if that helps. I use those little alcohol swabs that are used to swab your skin when you're about to get a shot. A box of them from the drugstore is pretty cheap and they'll last forever. Look for them either in the first aid section or with the diabetic supplies.

Most is condensation. Best way to cope with that is to clear the chamber. Let go of the fire button about a second to half second before you stop drawing air through. After that, cleaning out the drip catch cup and chimney stem each tank refill (cotton swabs (q-tips) and/or pipe cleaners work here)

I always seem to have this problem with sub ohm tank or a dripper. I have to constantly clean it out

I clean my drip tips and chimneys with grain alcohol once a day, and every time I fill them and every time I build them, so they get cleaned quite a bit. What I do is cut 3 or 4 paper towels into 12ths and keep the stack of papers in my vape holder and put rubbing alcohol for the outsides and grain alcohol for the insides and drip tips in used 30ml bottles for easy access. I'm a little excessive maybe but I like clean stuff.

I use vodka and clean the way @Ou2mame cleans. I hate the smell of rubbing alcohol and for some bizarre reason everclear grain alcohol is impossible to find in bottles smaller than a liter around where I live.

Cheap vodka is nothing more than grain alcohol diluted down to 40% alcohol by volume.

It does get weird looks when you walk in and ask for a pint of whatever vodka is cheapest and when they ask you what you plan on drinking it with (because of course, that stuff tastes ghastly), you say, "Oh, I don't plan on drinking it.", but WTH.

WI apparently has a law stating that pure grain alcohol cannot be sold in "hip flasks", I assume to avoid someone chugging a flask and keeling over. I don't really have the space to store a large bottle of alcohol other than in the fridge, which is reserved for my bottle of Bailey's and whatever craft beer or cider I'm currently slowly working my way through.

With the limited amount of hardware i have, a pint of vodka lasts me months and costs me around 3 dollars. I may buy a liter of everclear and keep it in with the bathroom cleaning supplies as I'm told it does a good job of cleaning grout and the bathroom in my new apartment is tiled and holds moisture. I tried using a bleach solution to clean the grout and nearly fell out from the fumes.

I find the vokda does a good job of cleaning up e-juice gunk, though I don't vape gunky juices for the most part.

Are you using a really short drip tip?
Just the stock tips. I really think a lot of it is just typical condensation. Sounds like it's a pretty common issue.
What's the advantage of cleaning a tank with alcohol as opposed to just water? I've heard a lot of people saying to use alcohol but water does just fine on all of my SS and glass
