It is in fact a knock off. As it reads Vape Pen 22 ((( Styled )))
I don't know for a fact, but I am led to believe when smok designed and ordered (lets say 100,000 units.) The manufacturer may have made 200,000. If Smoke didn't re-order another 100,000, they left the Smok name off the unit and sell it as styled.
Bottom line, the Smoke sells for 25 bucks with the same exact specs. The 1 above sells for under 13 bucks. I've had no problems with it for the 9-12 weeks I've been using it. It gives amazing flavor, nice clouds and have never had leaks.
Order just 1. $12.66.... FREE SHIPPING .. I'm sure you'll be impressed.

They say they don't use any pg to make their flavors.
I play with DIY e juice. After much practicing I've found to get the flavor you want at pennies per ml.
From all I've learned, PG is used to carry the flavoring much more efficiently than VG. All my flavors are PG based. So a juice with 15% of favoring and would be at the end 15%PG ( 100ml= 85%VG /15%PG )
Your issue of not getting a good flavor could be caused by the juice not having any PG to carry the flavor.
In my DIY experience, I've found after mixing all ingredients for a 85%VG juice. I let it sit in a hot water bath for up to 50 minutes. During that time the VG turns to PG consistency. After cooling, it turns thick again. I noticed this works well to get the flavors well mixed into the batch of juice.

What is a genny trooper?
Apologies for the jargon, I should have known better. A Genny is a Genesis styled atomizer, the first of the really successful tanks. Top coil, bottom tank, they were (and are, many still use them) traditionally wicked with stainless steel mesh. A Genny Trooper is a person who uses them.

f.w.i.w. I don't use TC and find it unsatisfactory with factory coils. The capability to run TC is not really on my list when it comes to choosing a mod. It just so happens, 95% of all the good mods have it anyway.

I find it depends on the coil. Some work well but many others don't.

While it's true that all the good mods have TC, they don't all have good TC. DNA mods are the best if you're in a position to pay for that quality. For the more budget oriented, Joyetech/Eleaf/Wismec is decent, as are the latest Aspires and Smoants, from what I've heard. The Pico has decent TC as well as all-round reliable performance. I don't consider it stellar, but it's solid and fairly versatile so it's not a bad place to start.

Wish I had the money for a lost vape. I like their looks.

They're excellent, but as you say the quality shows up in the price tag.

I'm okay with paying for it for now until I figure out if I like it or not. Also, I'm sure I can coil wires etc, it's mostly that I would like to start out easier.
Battery ---Pico is fine, should work with DL.
Juice --- Lots of VG only e-liquids. (might want to stay away from DIY until you get y
Atty --- Tanks may be a problem.
re: what is the best tank for pure vg?
I would go with a RDA clone/styled and learn how to coil. If you can bend a paper clip, you can make a coil. I vape deep well RDA's. Deep wells are like mini tanks and give the best taste available.

I tried some diy in the early days. It was a mess and I didn't have any luck getting a good vg flavor. Or even something that wasn't bleh.
That is an issue with max or 100% VG liquids. If you follow a recipe that includes added PG and calls for about 10-12% flavoring and the rest nicotine and bases (PG and VG), and you go only VG and eschew PG altogether, you won't get the same flavor notes that the recipe was made to do. You would have to up the flavoring percentage to compensate for VG's tendency to mute flavor. I do, anyway.

I made the rookie mistake of going big with my first attempts at DIY, mixing monster bottles of what ended up tasting like booger juice. The next few batches were 10-15 ml of guinea pigs. Some of those were boogery too but some I'm still making. ;)

Hi,
I've been a member for a while. I tried cig-a-likes first, then a vape pen. Problem is I can not tolerate breathing pg. So I tried vg, but it never had a decent taste. That was a few years ago. So now I'm looking for a mod (and juice) that can allow me to get the vapor and taste I'm looking for. I've been reading like non stop for two days trying to figure out what would work for me. So now I have an idea in my head of what I want but after spending all morning trying to find it.....Well I really need help. I'd love to go to a knowledgeable vape shop to see them in person, but I can't right now.
So, here is what(I think) I'm looking for. I want a mod that is VV/VW, temp control, upradeable firmware and replaceable 18650 batterie/s. It would be nice if it was on the small, pocketable size. Come to think of it I need good tank and coil recommendations. It is all so confusing. Please help me and thank you in advance.
One other thing I wanted to say as for the juice your using not having a decent taste.
Pick up 2 or 3 of Capella 13ml bottles of flavoring you like. With any tank, you can add 1 to 2 drops per ml and bring about a different taste.
IMO, The Vape pen with its 2ml tank allows a few drops of flavoring to quickly blend with the existing juice. My thinking is that the coil heats up the juice and that helps to get the flavorings blended in.
Some flavors are more stronger than others. Capella Graham Cracker is one of those strong flavors. One drop in a tank brings about a whole new taste.

I just wanted to mention that if you are having wicking issues, you can thin your juice with up to 5% (I think) distilled water, I also use max VG in a MTL tank and don't have trouble wicking, I continue to inhale for at least two seconds after I release the fire button to wick more juice up into the coil, this has become second nature by now but I don't experience wicking issues at all.

Then have a look at an iStick Pico starter kit. The mod's good for 1-75 watts (don't go over 60 watts on a 20A battery), has TC with three-wire support and wattage modes, and the included Melo tank uses the Aspire Triton series coils plus the c-cell ceramics, which offer both DTL and MTL coils. That'll give you plenty to play with to see what you like. You can buy the kit under 40 bucks, plus 12 bucks for a pair of Samsung 30Q (20A) or LG HD2C (25A, good for 75 watts) batteries and a Nitecore D2 charger for 20 (buy the D4 or the I4 instead, you can never have enough charging slots, but it's 5-10 extra). You may or may not end up there, but it's a good place to start to figure out exactly what you want a mod to do without blowing tons of bucks for a name brand. I have a Pico Squeeze, a squonk mod built on the same frame. High dollar it is not, but it works just fine and I like it.
