As the title says.

I've syringe modded a couple broken CE2-Xs but, obviously, they're too wide for the eGo Cone. So far I have tried cutting down the cone via a grinding wheel. This worked fine, but it made the cone too short. I'll just use this method if I can't find a better one.

However, I had an epiphany. The eGo-T atties fit these *perfectly*

I busted out a screw driver, knocked all the insides out of a broken eGo-T attie (after removing the needle plate) and slid it on. This worked well, but it was too long, so I planned on grinding it down a bit, not a big deal.

However, the eGo-T atties thread onto the 510 attie connection, and not the cone threads. I took the rubber o-ring from inside the eGo-T atties and cut it down and slid it over the threads, and this worked fairly well, but it'd be a hassle to remove and replace.

So I had another epihany: The threads aren't machined onto the cones, they're a seperate piece that's shoved into the cone. I destroyed my cut-down cone to get the threads out, and planned to put it into the gutted eGo-T attie.

Well, it didn't fit. I noticed there's the same type of shoved-in plate on the ego-T atties, with a small lip, so I tried to remove it. I couldn't get it out without destroying the gutted attie (thus making it useless)

So the question:

How would you remove that inner plate on the eGo-T atties without destroying the structure of the gutted attie? The plate I'm talking about is the little silver band you see on the bottom with the nicks in it for airflow.

Failing that, how would *you* recommend modding a gutted eGo-T attie to snap on over the threads, without me having to reseat an o-ring every time I remove it. The atties have ~ 1/16th of a gap between them and the threads.

I don't want to glue the o-ring to my battery, and I can't see a way to glue said o-ring into the gutted attie since it would probably fail eventually with the amount of force required to push it over the threads.

I only have 1 more eGo-T attie that's not brand new to do this with, so I can't afford to destroy it. $11 a try is aspensive.
