I just spoke to the General Manager of Stone Brewery World Bistro and Gardens about whether or not he would allow vaping if we wanted to book a San Diego area vaping party there. We spoke for a bit, and initially he was open to the idea because he apparently didn't realize we would be producing good sized clouds of vapor.
Well, not wanting to surprise him or put ourselves in a bad position while the party was taking place, I warned him that we would indeed be exhaling vapor, and that it would appear to other customers as if it were smoke. We talked for a bit and he was fairly comfortable with the fact that we would be exhaling this visible vapor, but wanted me to help educate their staff so they would be prepared in case any of the customers complained.
So, I'm checking out various resources I can point him to, but I am not sure if I want him reading about the FDA propaganda since he does not currently seem to be aware of any issues. I don't want to scare him off, but then I don't want him to be unprepared should any of his customers complain and start blabbering about the FDA propaganda.
It seems a fine line to walk, thanks to the FDA and their misinformation campaign.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on how to handle this?
Any resources they feel would be the most appropriate?
