Very wise. I plan on keeping the ego bats as backup or for more discrete vaping. There is a waranty on the bat which is attractive. And it'll let me meter out my atties w/o needing to buy a meter....

It's more for an at home unit/weekender unit. Ya know get a movie going at night in the dark and fill the room up w/ vapor while drinkin your beer... not to stealth on @ work all day ;)

Up to this point, I've been vaping on 510's/eGo bats lr 510 attys 306 atties dewicked/debridged... played with carto and tanks and clearo's n duel coils. I'm lookin for a serious mod. And after research it coming down to these...

GLV-3 Electronic Cigarette [GLV-3] - $195.00 : Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

ProVari Variable Voltage Ecig: Best Variable Voltage E Cig Available!

The Darwin

Opinions? :vapor:

I'm really leaning towards the darwin...

Three of the top PV's on the market. Good selections on your part.

I would go with the Darwin due to the longest battery life of any PV on the market (21+ hours on a charge), 2 year full warranty (1 full year on the battery) and the fact that it automatically adjusts to the change in the resistence of your atty/carto.

The GLV3 is also a great option in that you have one of the best 5 volt PV's on the market and then can add the juice feeder when you want that option.

Well with the Darwin if the battery fails you have to send back to get it replaced, the others you don't.

From my and many others experience, if there is a problem that requires you to send the Darwin back, they "OVER-NIGHT" you a replacement before you even have to send yours back. Can't beat that service.

That was my general conclusion upon looking at every single vendor site top to bottom on here and reading reviews. So thanks!! Thanks for your input too! The overnight bat feature is awesome I read about that too. The only thing that has me worried about the darwin at all is bending the arm by accident! The mis drip/overdrip juice in the power wheel doesn't concern me as much as bending that on/off connecting arm
:(

No one to my knowledge and definitely not me, has had any problem with the arm. The arm is built solid. I've dropped mine more times than I can remember. They put a lot of engineering into the arm.

I'm puzzled by your inclusion of the GLV-3. It's a juice feeder, not a VV mod like the Darwin and ProVari. [And, to my eye, it seems to be an overpriced one. Do you really want a juice feeder box mod and a tubular mod (neither of which is VV) all rolled up into one?]

As for choosing between the two best VV mods, read and watch reviews and visualize yourself using each device. [I don't own either, but the way my mind works, I think I would find the Darwin easier to use. From what I've heard, however, many people have no problem with all those button presses and remembering how many presses do what.]

I included the GLV-3 because the hand held juice feed and @ 5v. No it's not variable, but at 5 volts w/ a juice feed I can just vape away and never worry. It also look kinda awesome, and as a dripper... HV and a never ending drip to vape on younds yummy...

Darwin i'll still have my travel case w/ attts/carto/tanks and juices. w/ the GLV-3 i just grab it n go and im good to go. Though with a darwin I could be most inclinded to try cartos again... was never a huge carto fan on a ego. i think a carto on a darwin might just be pretty amazing.

I can definitely see both of your points. I don't have the GLV3 but have also been giving it serious consideration for the same reasons you stated. Maybe the GLV4 will be a variable volt juice feed PV, let's hope.

BTW, 801 cartos and mini-801 attys are great on the Darwin.

801 threads same as 510 or do I need an adapter? have yet to try an 801 or a 901 atty. Ive pretty much stuck to 510/306/Tank genuine joye and cisco spec and have tried booge/joye cartos and the ce2 clearos... Just cartos never gave the vapor or flavor dripping did on an ego bat... the clearo's crack... but on a darwin id try them all!!!!!!! Hell id even try some of duel coils ppl seem to rave on about!

I have the darwin in my cart... I just cant hit checkout *sigh* $250 ugh! maybe the misses wont ask what this set me back :D

VapOrJay - I have several MODs including the Vari and Reos. I also have other top end MODs but the ONLY MOD I bought two of is the Darwin. Just as wv2win I have also dropped the Darwin. Several times they have been dropped hard enough to snap carto's and atty's at the connector but the arm and the Darwin took it well. As for customer service if there is an issue it is resolved promptly, go read the Darwin thread. Evolv stands behind their product and will go the extra mile to support their customers.

I mainly use cartos on my Darwins and reserve attys for my bottom feeders and other MOD's. I run the Iken Fusions on one unit and the V2's on the other. Your list of PV's is good and I am certain you will be happy with any of the three. Happy vapes and best of luck

You will need an an adaper to use the 801's. There are regular and stealth adapters and they run generally abourt $3.

I would suggest these 801's: BE112's attys from Liberty Flights; mini-801's attys from Ikenvape and 801 cartos from MadVapes. They all do well on the Darwin. I usually set the watts at about 8.5 to 8.8 which equals about 5 volts with the resistence of these attys/cartos.

I'm also looking at a 510 to eGo adapter, thinking to use the cone as a drip shield as I have both 510 and 306 atty's I can use as well as a tank (and I've seen a pic on google w/ a tank - extended) but with a tank/cone... would the arm have enough clearance to still swing back/off?

Depends on the size of the tank. With an extender, some tanks allow the arm to close. Some don't. Considering the length of time the battery lasts, I rarely close the arm, just leave it up all the time. I even have a cell phone holder on the slopped front of my car dash beside the radio that holds the Darwin securely almost at a complete vertical angle.

Brandon from Evolv told me it is actually better to charge the Darwin with the arm up instead of closed.

If you want a VV mod then the provari or the darwin is a great choice! If you want a bottom fed mod then the reo mini or reo grand is the best IMO. 5v regulated the triple v is great and very affordable... Theres my 2 cents. Good luck with your purchase!

The Reo has a very strong following. However, I would rather have the 5 volt GLV3 feeder PV due to the 5 volt option.

Good tip on the charge! Little things like this are the "recon" I think I’m subconsciously gathering before I hit that buy button! Been reading the Darwin threads too a lot. The cart-checkout continues to stare at me all day long. It's only a matter of time until I cave in (... every day I hold on is a day closer to the next paycheck lol. def eyeballing those 801 cartos you suggested... but after this purchase i'm just gonna use what I have stock for a couple weeks before I go all out. Tho I do have a whole bunch of connectors and adapters on order and luck have it I bought a short short 510 to 510 to protect the orig threads and a 510 sealed short extender and a atty sized 510-510 extender along w/ 808 and 901 801 adapters --- the purpose of this unit is to open *ALL* possible doors for toys to try.

And... I saw you post about them and in other reading, I want to try these CCV duel coil cartos -- they sound to me as if i might find a carto I like yet!!!

My thoughts are what do you do while your Darwin is charging ? If it is passthough maybe but you will be tied to a usb cord . A 5 volt mod well does everything work well at 5 volts ? I have a provari and I like it because I can just change batteries when needed and keep on vaping . I use different voltages for different attys or catos and rarely use 5 volts or more unless I am using HR gear . The provari seems like a bit more work to find the right voltage but after a while you know what you like to use on what carto or atty so you just dial it in . I have the 510 to ego adapter for it and the extended end cap so I am happy with it .
