Hey guys - I've been wanting to create my own flavor combinations for a while now, and also not be dependent on what vendor's are selling...So starting late this week (vape budget day), I am going to order and buy the things I need to make some juice. I don't use tanks, only RDA's, so I will be exclusively making my own "drip line". I do have a PG allergy, but I can tolerate it up to 30% (meaning I can vape a 30/70 PG VG or higher with no issues). I want to do 90/10 VG/PG batches, or 80/20 if that makes it easier. I know I need straight VG, nicotine solution, and then flavorings. I left out prop. glycol because I figured if I used PG based flavorings, that could be my 10% or 20%. This is coming from someone who has never DIY'd e-juice before, so I may have it all wrong. What would be the best way to do those high VG mixes I listed above? Where is a good place to order DIY supplies? As far as flavorings go, I want QUALITY flavoring and not crap - Looking to do a vanilla custard blend and maybe a doughnut flavor...Where can I buy flavoring that has been proven to be good (I know this question is very subjective)?

I used to be a culinary student, so I have a good set of taste buds and I'm always coming up with crazy new dishes for dinner and etc - So I thought trying out e-juice and crafting some new flavor blends would be fun.

Any help is appreciated - I've done a lot of reading, but I still find that I get the best answers and feedback from the good vapies of ECF. :toast:

EDIT: Also - I will be making these juices ONLY in 3mg nicotine, and then 0 nic, if that helps.

Start by doing some research. A little knowledge can go a long way with DYI. Let me recommend some reading. Look particularly at my supply’s blog for new beginners it will save you some money by informing you what is necessary and what is not.

Read my blogs before getting started

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

then read hoosier's blogs.

E-Cigarette Forum - Hoosier - Blogs

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

Regarding PG, there are ways around it. Several vendors have PG-free flavorings, you could start with this thread and research from there:

If your juice needs thinning, you can used distilled water instead (it is also less expensive).

Danny and Hoosier's blogs are a great source of info and will answer many of your questions (see above), including ones you don't know you will have yet. All of the stickies have great info, but some could be considered more advanced and/or optional for someone starting out, although I strongly recommend these if you have not read them yet, since they pertain directly to safety:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/277267-purity-pg-vg-peg-short-version.html

As you go through reading those blogs and safety threads, you will likely have more questions. Do not hesitate to post them, because there are a lot of helpful people in the DIY forum.
