Hello,
So here it goes. I am going to try and make my own e juice.
Looking to make my juice in 30ml bottles.
I would like the juice to mostly be 80% VG 20% PG with 3mg on nicotine.
How much flavoring do I start with in a 30ml bottle?
I am ordering a big bottle of VG and a bottle of 24 mg PG based nicotine.

How much of the nicotine do I add to make the bottle 3mg of nicotine?

Appreciate the help.

First, congratulations on getting into DIY. Second, go to Google and find an e-juice calculator (I use e-Liquid-calculator.com). These calculators will lay out all the ingredients you what to use by percentages that you desire. Also, go to YouTube and look for videos on DIY -juices. They will walk you through the process.
You can do some searching on ECF and find some recommendations for percentages for specific flavors from the various vendors.
It is a lot of fun and a good way to save some money. Good luck and enjoy!

Welcome to the DIY sub. Take as many cookies as you like, someone somewhere is always making more.

How much flavoring? There are a number of threads on here with flavoring %'s for specific flavorings, so you might want to start close to some of those poster's thoughts on your specific flavorings. Advanced Search is your friend because using the default search field is just a waste of time.

As noted above, a mixing calculator is a good thing to have. It's also a good idea to know the math too, so you can double check and minimize mistakes. Since you have 24mg/ml nicotine, you know that each ml has 24mg's in it. If you were to take 1ml of 24mg/ml and added 7ml of VG you'd have 24mg/ml * 1ml = 24mg nicotine which is in 1ml+7ml of liquid, so 24mg / 8ml = 3mg/ml. (And that would be 12.5/87.5 PG/VG because the nic is in PG and 1ml/8ml = 12.5%...etc)

Oh, and you might want to start experimenting with less than 30ml. It's fairly uncommon that a new mixer makes a great juice on their first try, so the less you start with, the less you have to toss when you discover you've made the perfect over-flowing-litter-box-with-hints-of-spoiled-lime juice if you do fairly poorly. Granted it does happen, new mixers making great stuff on their first try, but it's still an exception in my estimation.

Lol, ya sure don't want to start with 30ml bottles, unless you want to throw away money.

Start with 15ml bottles and make 5ml test batches with zero nicotine, nic is expensive to throw away also.

When you hit a good mix you really like, then make 15ml with nic, and later on make 30ml.

I still only use 15ml bottles, as I like to experiment with new recipes, and always rotating flavors.

My advice is to make a 5ml sample of your flavours when you receive them, use the search function on here to find a starting percentage, mix it up, taste it right away, make notes on the strength, then leave it for a week, try again and make more notes. You will soon get a feel for what you are working with and make some great juice.

REad up on the topic and definitely ask questions if you need to. An ejuice calculator is a must, IMHO. You want to get this right:) Flavor percentages will vary by taste and by what brand of flavoring you are using. Most people try small batches of 5 ml to get an idea of the flavor combos they like.

Welcome to a money saving, tastey hobby:)
