So here's the story. My mom and sister both bought a prosmoke about 7 months ago, and used it religiously. They loved it, and both of them almost quit smoking entirely. My mom went from a PAD smoker, to only having maybe 1 or 2 a day. Both of them, similar to me kept pouring money into their prosmokes by buying new cartridges that only seemed to really last about 10-20 puffs. Eventually they had filled their entire prosmoke box with empty pre-filled cartridges and realized the product wasn't worth it and went back to smoking analogs.

I'm looking for a nice PV for the two of them that resembles a prosmoke, but works as well as my eGo-T. Some necessities for them I believe:
  • Small design, looks like you're smoking a cigarette
  • Maybe an auto battery, but not necessary
  • Easy maintenance, neither of them like to fiddle or are technical people
  • Not necessarily pre-filled cartridges, maybe cartomizers will work for them if I can teach them. Any other options?
  • Price is a factor also. The prosmoke locked you in with their proprietary equipment that would cost you an arm and a leg.

Some help here would be great. Any advice? I love my eGo-T and recently ordered 2 eGo twists, but I don't think this device is for them so I'm looking for other options.

Smokeless Image Volts are what got me off the cigs forever. The 78mms are 380mah and any of the kits with 2 batteries would be a good start. You then have a choice between regular or XL cartos, or ce3s, or clearomizers (which I don't use with the little batteries).

Smokeless Image kicks ash as far as customer service as well. Prefilled cartos are the same cost as a blank carto, and I haven't gotten a bad juice from them. I prefer my own juices, but their juice is good too. If they turn to vaping full time, they can then look at the X2, which is the same as a Kgo, and they'd be able to use whatever cartos they had left over as well.

Seems like the volt may be a perfect fit for my family members

Volts were the ecig that finally got me free from smoking, too. And, I still use them. I use the regular 65mm and 78mm batteries (that emulate the look of tobacco cigarettes), and I use their step up, Kgo style, battery - the X2. I like the charge times, I like the accessories and the bling, and their pre filled cartos are the same flavor as their liquids, plus there is the added convenience of CE3's and clearomizers, too. I started small, but now I have a good collection of Volt batteries and accessories. I don't have any desire to go on to bigger or fancier mods, because the Volt did - and still does - what I needed it to do and that is to quit smoking as painlessly as possible. If I step away from where I am now, it will likely be to quit vaping, too. But, I'm not looking to do that just yet. I find the ritual the Volt allows me to be comforting in a way, after 39 years of smoking tobacco cigarettes.

If you go the route of the Volt, I'd suggest a kit for each, don't make them share one. If it works initially, send them over to the website to look at accessories and bling and more choices in batteries and liquids. Plus, the Smokeless Image customer service really is second to none and will make right anything that remotely has a chance of going wrong. They back there products and their customers. The only real choice you will have to make is what size and color and manual or auto to get for their batteries, and their initial pack of cartos flavors. As Jen said, though, just make sure each kit has two batteries. The Standard Starter or the Pro Starter kits would be my recommendations, but if you go for the Pro (basically for the pcc's), I'd also add a regular USB charger for the heck of it, too, which can be had from the Pro Starter Kit "extras" at a slightly discounted price over ala carte.

At least be happy that you got them to even try vaping. I tired to get my uncle to vape (he is a 2 PAD smoker) and he wants nothing of it. He says its to harsh (Well I let him try my Ego-t with LR carto's with 24 mg nic juice). But I feel your pain. Good luck to ya. What I started with was called cloud 9 vaping. It fits most of your points. They can come with pre-filled cartos, atomizers or unfilled cartos. There are a ton of other options from different companies as well. Look for KR-808 or KR-308 models, as those are the ones that I know are roughly the same length and thickness of a reg cig. I think that the DSE models are also roughly the same size as an analog, but I have no experience with those.

I'm also on SI Volt battery cig look alike not X2. I like it a lot and already bought 3 more kits for friend and family. The kit come with two batteries and a charger, you can get manual or auto but I prefer 78mm manual. The 78mm would last me around 8 hours(half a pack smoker). Then you have a choice of regular cartomizer which you can refilled a few times before discard them, or like me you can get CE3 and would last longer, taste better and produce more vapor than cartos. Only thing is a bit more difficult to fill/refill this CE3 where syringe get involve.
