    Greetings,

I have a number of friends that still smoke and I'd like to give them hand picked custom vaping kits to let them try out and get them started vaping.

While simple fixed voltage eGo batteries can be had for <$10, I'd rather set them up with at least a VV battery so they have some control over how much vapor it is producing.

Again, MOD's with fixed internal batteries can be had fairly inexpensively however a replaceable battery might give whatever MOD longer usefulness and life span.

The least expensive MOD's with replaceable batteries seem to be 'tube' style however I've seen 5-30W box mod clone's (fixed batteries) going for less than $20.

    So requirements are:
    • floating pin
    • must have at least VV (+VW even better)
    • greater than 2000mAh battery
    • no more than 30W needed
    • user replaceable 18350 or 18650 (or something in between) is bonus
I've been looking at a Eleaf iStick 30W Clone Mod APV for ~$18 which fits most of the above 'wish list' except having a replaceable battery.

    Ideas?

The IPV Mini matches all of your Criteria.

The Only thing I would say Negative about it is it is a Tad Heavy.

With respect, I have never had a "MVP" die on me, plus you can vape while charging, and you (or the people you gift these to) won't have to buy a battery charger.

The new(er) MVP20W can be had quite cheaply, has been out for around a year(ish), and it gives them a very nice upgrade path without changing brands. Just a thought?

Greetings all and thanks for the replies. Along with a battery/mod I'm planning on outfitting them with two decent clearomizers, pack of spare coils and some homemade juice.

The IPV Mini matches all of your Criteria. The Only thing I would say Negative about it is it is a Tad Heavy.

There are three mods that fit here all currently in the $35-40 price range. The IPV Mini does look good, I may pick one up for myself.

    $17.99 - 20W 2200mAh Variable Voltage / Wattage Box Mod APV - Cigabuy

Thanks. I've actually been leaning this way. While a fixed battery may have a limited life span I think the more important features of mAH, VV, cost and added bonus of pass through charging. The 5-20W and 5-30W clones can be had for <$20.

The Evod like/clone 'twists' can be had for <$15 (in some cases <$10) however they may not come with a charge cord or have pass through charging (requiring the user to ether own 2x or have something else to fall back on while it is charging).

BTW - I have been Using this for a couple of Weeks...
$45.47 Kangxin Mini VF KX-50D Temperature Control 50W VW MOD - 1-50W / 1*18650 / aluminum alloy / black at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Liking it a LOT. And of course, it Doesn't have to be run in TC Mode if you do not want to.

While I did not post a budget so I could get all the possible options no matter the cost, +$45 for a 'starter' gift is WAY over budget considering the other items I'm planning on including.

The goal or hope was to put together a 'decent' starter kit for <$20-25 which I could just gift to semi-interested friends who are still smoking. The idea being is that they may not be interested enough in going out and navigating the purchase of one themselves however might try out or give vaping a chance if they had a setup of their own.

I was also going to suggest the mvp 20W. You can get them now for $22 and they're durable as all heck. I bought one for barn and yard work :). I bet I can drop it off my tractor daily and it keeps working longer than my isticks.

MVP20W. Physically solid, very good reputation. Having a replaceable battery is better for high "power" battery use. There are peeps that change batteries several times a day.

Having an internal battery is like a phone and it will come with a charging cable. The internal batteries will last the day, rather easily. Replaceable batteries cost and so does the charger.

The Vamo is a tank and i found it extremely reliable. Had the V5 before i got a sigelei mini and it has never let me down. My dad has also been on Vamos for a long time, he won't even consider getting anything else.
I've owned a joyetech ecom twist, vision spinner 2, vamo v5 and sigelei mini 30. The only one i would not recommend is the joyetech, the other 3 are all great and depend on what you need. If it's for a complete beginner, spinner. If 15w is enough, for a low price the Vamo is great. For 30 and a nice box mod the sigelei is great (though it is VW only).
    My 2 cents :)

I think what you're looking for would be....

Sigelei 30W mini. Replaceable 18650 battery with on board charging.

If only I were that rich....

I have a few eLeaf 20W clones on order. I think two of them cost less than one Sigelei 30W mini. (I'm trying to keep the cost of each 'kit' to less than $25, < $20 would be even better!)

    Thanks for the suggestion.
