The SVD is a great mod, just be careful not to over tighten whatever you put on it. I honestly have to recommend clearomizers if your new. I would recommend the davide or PT if you plan on getting adventurous with the different flavors but most tobacco flavors do not require glass tanks. Also don't forget some batteries, I think the SVD takes 18650 26F so I would reccomend the samsung 18650 ICR cells, they take a minute to charge but their 5 amp limit is over the mods current limit and the capacity is top notch.

This is the busiest forum I have ever seen so I do not want to keep asking questions and keep you from answering more important ones, but I have another if it isn't an inconvenience.

I am a little confused between two of the previous posts. When changing 24mg nic to 18mg nic, do I want to order the same flavor in 0mg or do I want to add VG?

With my smoking habbit, chain smoking 4 or 5 cigs when I get up and then one almost every hour, I “think” I “might” need both on hand. What would be more cost effective? Or am I jumping the gun a bit?

Thank you for the advise. As for batteries I am still uncertain if I will be going with 2x 18350 (4 total) (more costly but more accurate voltage) or 1x 18650 (2 total).

As for the manufacturer, I will be going with EFest. While the AW is a great battery, I read a comparison between the AW and the EFest showing the EFest IMR as the winner in the 2000mAh range. If it was an old test or your experience has shown different please correct me.

Thanks again for everyone's advice, never enough.

I am relatively new to vaping myself. I am a former 1 PAD smoker. What works for me, may or may not work for you. I start out with 24 mg in the morning, similar to your chain smoking when you first get up. I then switch to 18 mg through the day. After dinner I switch again down to 12 mg. I also find that I change flavors through out the day. That's one of the advantages of vaping, you can adjust as the mood strikes you. You may want to invest in several tanks, unless you get right into dripping, as you will be searching for the right flavor combos that work for you.

Good luck on your journey! :vapor:

I understand the differences between the clearos and the cartos, I think where I went wrong was I had just watched a video on the Helios and was thinking carto and atomizer (far above my level) and just made a mess of the first post. Forgive me for that please.

My reason for 100% VG... Being me is a pain in the ..., I am allergic to a lot of things, from grass to the filters on cigarettes. For this reason I think my first attempt I should side with caution and start with a safer choice like virgin vapor gourmet juices. I am serious about wanting to quit smoking so I dont want stomach aches and sore throats stopping me.

My reason for a VV/VW mod... A lot of the reviews point out that you have to play with the voltage or wattage with VG to get the full flavor, I just wanted to make sure I had that option if I needed it. I was going to get the 1.8 ohm heads and start at 4.3 volts and go from there. Suggestions?

I know I have a lot to learn and a long road ahead of me, that is the reason I finally registered, I hope to place my first order on Jan 2nd when the world goes back to work. With your help (if willing) I want to have everything I need to start vaping the day the order arrives.

I spend over $200 a month smoking, so if it takes me 2 months up front to quit, I am willing to pay it. I am not suffering from shinyitis (not yet anyway) just doing what I think will most likely keep me vaping from day 1. You are the vapers and I value your opinion.

Thank you, when I place my order I will add a few 24mg to it, hopefully I pick a nice all day flavor for it when I do. Is there a way to change 18 to 24 yourself if needed?

I was a heavy smoker at the end, two packs of Camel lights a day. 18mg didn't even begin to do it for me, I'm serious when I say you're going to need 24mg, at least for a while, in the beginning. I wouldn't get into mixing nicotine yet, get your gear and a couple of flavors under your belt - there's a lot to learn here, take it a step at a time. Try the 18s, if it's not too late to stop or change the order, and keep them around, you can use them later, most juices are good for a year, or so everyone says.

I personally like juices at a 50/50 mix - a balance between flavor and vapor. Hopefully you won't have any issues with PG.

THE best mod for a beginner is an iTaste MVP 2.0. $49 at 101vapes, too! It will do all you need, is a solid, steady performer, and you can use just about anything with a 510 thread on it - carto tanks, ProTanks, clearomizers, etc.
iTaste MVP V2.0, Long-Lasting 2600 mAh Variable Voltage VV Box Mod - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin
If you don't like the boxy style, then an iTaste VV 3.0 does all that an MVP does, but with a smaller battery:
$24.88 Authentic Innokin iTaste VV V3.0 Variable Voltage / Wattage 800mAh Rechargeable Battery - w/ charging cable at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

A ProTank or BDC is perfect to get started. Once you get comfortable, you can start exploring all the other options.

Either way is going to Lower the mg from 24 to 18mg.

By Adding VG though, you are going to see a Drop in Flavor.

Where as if you add the Same Flavored e-Liquid in 0mg, there would be No Flavor Drop.

I was a very heavy smoker (2PAD) and I have a lot of allergies like you do. Finding the right amount of nicotine is just going to take some trial and error. I needed and still use 24 mg/ml. when I tone it down, I prefer to use 0 mg or 6mg or 12 mg and I mix it in a separate bottle and let it steep for a while. I prefer to add the same flavor as it boosts the flavor IMO. The biggest thing I will suggest, is if you are worried about allergies, have your allergist test you for VG and PG allergies. It is a quick test and will save you from a bad reaction. Also, be aware that some flavors can cause allergic reactions, so be careful with it. On a note about 100% VG liquids, my experience has been that my Protank2 works very well with them. Also, some brands are thicker than others. Of the ones I have tried, Virgin Vapor seems to be the thinnest and is only marginally thicker than my PG/VG blends.

Ok, taking your advice and suggestions and doing some review readings I believe I have my order ready. Thank you so much for your time and help.

Itaste SVD
Aspire BCD x2
Custom HH.357 (because I am curious)
Smart charger and 4x 18350 batteries (likely the AW IMR 700mAh)
VG juice from Virgin Vapor but 24mg and 12mg (by the time I get them I hope to know how to cut it)

am I missing anything?

I'd throw in a Clearomizer or two.

Something you can buy Replaceable Heads for. Like maybe an iClear 16 or an iClear 30.

My favorite cartomizer is the Boge 510. They have a really good vapor production, the ones I've seen on surevapes.com come in 2 and 3ohms. In my opinion though the Boge F16 cartomizer tank is the only way to go since you don't have to worry about refilling it all the time. here a link hope this helps!

Welcome.

I would recommend searching on YouTube for cartomizers and clearomizers. Learn as much as you can about all the different things that are out there. Its a bit overwelming at first, but hang in there.

If you are going to be using 100% VG, you may want to start with cartomizers as they feed better with thicker liquids once you get the hang of filling them. I primarily use cartomizers because to me they are the most consistant, least fiddly, and pretty cheap as well.

You are going to want to try different things as you learn, but I recommend allways watching some YouTube vids on what you want to try first, and reading some reviews.

Hope this helps.

Then this (click here) is not what I think it is?

I'm not sure what You think it is, so I can't Really say.

But what I was Trying to say is that if I was you, I would try a Couple of Different Clearomizers.

You are going to go with 100% VG e-Liquids. And Some 100% VG e-Liquids don't work well in Some Clearomizers. There is also a Big Difference in a the hit you get from a Bottom Coil Clearo verses a Top Coil Clearo.

Lastly, Many Bottom Coil Clearos are hard to Modify to make them work better with Thicker e-Liquids like 100% VG. Top Coils tend to be Easier to Mod.

So I would think about getting a Couple of Different types. And see what works best for you and your e-Liquids/Voltages.

My dear friend. More answers and more confused you will be. Knowing things are good but some details are confusing and would not be understood without giving it a try. Let me tell you
Go buy the first set sugested to you in the beginning
try to find a vendor around you (If possibe) Try PG, VG seperately and try say 20%P 80%VG. Than you will see yourself. Get 24mg/ml for sure you can dilute it if high for you
Dont be afraid many of us began this thing not wanting to quit. (I personally would have my cigarette&tea ceremony every morning and if t helps I would use e-cigs after that)
And better the device and easier to quit is a wrong idea because we all quit with primitive devices we first met.

go ahead my friend you will find your good devices after you get the idea fully and knowing what you need personally.

First I switched to vaping with ego type battery with a carto tank. Upgraded to evic and protank2 combo. Then mech with rda for learning the world of building coils and using the dripper for tasting different juice. Then I got a diver and a nice tank for mech which is the best vape I've tried and I use it all the time now.
So far that has been 3 styles of power supply and 4 different forms of atomizer. The progression was over about 4 months. The thing is, I haven't touched a cigarette since I got my first ecig. So they all worked well enough, just as I gained more experience and did research I gained more knowledge of what is available and tried different things and found my own likes and dislikes with each change along the way.
