After considering 10s of different retailers, I found this one site which appeals most to me - vapeescape co uk

I'm going to buy the Joye 510 starter kit, but being new, could a member please point out the other items I need to buy with it to use it properly with e-juice. thanks, and if possible explaining why etc

Also check out Liberty-Flights.co.uk - I love their US shop - they have correct descriptions with no bs, decent prices, state their warranties

100mah is 1 hour of moderate vaping (like vaping less than 1/2 the time) with standard resistance (2.5 to 3 ohms) atomizer or cartomizer (which is all slim ecigs can use - only the fat or mod 450mah+ devices can use the hotter low resistance LR stuff)

Joye 510 is 180mah. Joye 510 mega xl is 280mah (and about 128mm long with a cartomizer). I do vape Joye 510 as one of my models and it's an OK starter if you are not hard dragging full strength smoker. But I ONLY recommend manual batteries. The Joye 510 manuals are fully sealed metal on the threaded end so they cannot be damaged or killed by juice leaks. Most people here use and recommend manuals. Manuals also make it easier to get a good drag/hit every time with less work. For learning to vape the supplied atomizer and cartridges are OK (buy eliquid!) but most people switch to cartomizers for their everyday juices (Boge 3 ohm aka standard resistance are the most popular on slim 510 and I recommend thinner juices with them - juice high in PG and low in VG)

If you get the 510 I recommend at least 1 spare atomizer, a spare charging cable (or 2 so you can have one at work), a PCC, a 510 drip tip (not a big acrylic one - a small delrin or plastic that will fit Boge cartos as a mouthpiece and fit all 510 atomizers), plenty of eliquid to get started (30-40ml and buy more as soon as you figure out which nicotine level you like), and at least one pack of Boge 510 cartomizers (3ohm = standard resistance)

The battery life of the standard size 510 is quite short - if you really want such a tiny model a PCC charging case can help extended that but if you vape a lot you will be looking for something bigger with more charge. A longer-charge backup you could carry would be a 510-threaded box mod (plus the necessary batteries and charger). Or an Ego-T battery (5-click enable/disable) or you could get a Riva 510-SE battery at Liberty-Flights.com (a bit more voltage, runs warmer than 510 or Ego) and the correct charger you need (puts out more power - its charger can damage the slim 510's). If you are going to pocket a big battery as a backup look for a big battery you can click several times in a row to enable/disable -in the US the new Riva 510-Se batteries have a 3-click enable/disable - not sure about the UK shop.

BTW there is a UK forum in National Forums on ECF. Once you have 5 non-spammed non-sequential posts or replies here in New Members, then a 1 hour wait, then you can post elsewhere, buy stuff in Buying & Selling section etc. I think the UK forum has a list of vendors.

Oooo - that vapescape has the SD Keyring mod - if that thing was manual I would really want one. I see they have Boge cartomizer too. It looks like a decent shop - but UK people would know more about it than me.

Richards, Everything you need is included with your kit. If this is in fact what you bought. If they give you the option of auto or manual batteries please take the manual. I see it also comes with prefilled cartridges. They'll be (hit or miss) at best. You might consider buying a few cartomizers and a few different flavors of juice as well.

2 Manual or Automatic Batteries
2 Atomiser
1 USB charger
5 Pre-filled Cartridges
Instruction Manual
Gift Boxed

It comes with atomizer and cartridges - not a favorite way to vape (most prefer cartomizers) but OK for starting out. The cartridges are plastic with an open end and stuffing inside. You pull (not twist) the cartridge out of the atomizer, drip juice into the stuffing until it looks just damp on top - not a puddle, push it back into the atomizer. You can keep using cartridges until they taste bad, then remove stuffing wash/dry cartridge, rinse and totally pat dry stuffing, fluff the stuffing a bit and put it back in. The part that will degrade and may die is the atomizer.

If you are not ordering spares or cartomizers right now, there is one thing you might still want to add - if you get the manual model as I suggested then add a 510 drip tip to your order for testing new juices.

...cartomizers and a driptip or two...get at least a couple of 5pks of cartos(cartomizers), they hold at least 3 times as much juice a the little carts...use the driptip as a mouth piece to replace the little white donut in the cartos...remove the donut and drip 20-30 drops into the edge of the filler...when it is slushy/glisteny it is filled, remove bottom condom, and give it a light blow to clear center air channel, connect to batt and vape...every hour, drip more juice into carto to get it back to slushy looking...you should be able to get 3r4r7+days from a carto before it needs replacement.....
madjack:2cool:

p.s. save the atty/carts for trying new flavs before committing them to a carto...and you will need spares for everything, including the spares and be prepared to use upto 30ml/wk worth of juice until you find you need more or less...........mj

The atomizer/cartridge setup is what a lot of people start with; most eventually move on. You can try some cartomizers right away, but don't sweat about it too much. An atty & cartridge WILL work just fine. Here's my suggestion for starting out:

On top of your basic kit, get at least 30ml of juice. 5 pre-filled cartridges (carts) won't last you too long. I quit a 1.5 PAD (packs a day) habit, and 5 carts would last me a day. I suggest small amounts of various flavors, so you'll have an idea of what to get NEXT time.

If you smoke half a pack or less a day, no problem. More than that, and I highly, HIGHLY suggest extra batteries and/or a PCC.

Lastly, and I don't think anyone has mentioned this, a word about atomizers. Your atomizers come from the factory with a light coating of oil on the coil. You can vape right through this, but it tastes pretty foul. When new, put a paper towel over the threaded end, put your lips on the other, and blow hard until the liquid stops coming out. That will minimize the ickiness of the first few drags. Also, a new atomizer comes with an empty cart attached, one that has no stuffing in it. This is just to protect the bridge in shipping, but you CAN use it as a mouthpiece if you want to try "dripping" (about 3 drops of liquid directly into the atomizer, lasts for 7-8 good drags, no "stuffing" over-taste).

how many carts per 30ml of e-liquid do u guys think i'll need?

Well, they're reusable, but they get lost, they wear out... maybe an extra 5-pack or two. That'll give you plenty to guage your usage. And you might discover that you don't like 'em and want to move up to cartos or just plain dripping, so don't get a gross of them, you know?

Hey Richards

I'm new to this so won't give you advice on what to buy, just want to say I ordered from vapeescape on Friday night like really late probably after 10- the site said they only ship week days, they shipped Saturday it arrived Monday and they put a free driptip in when I hadn't ordered one as I didn't have a clue what one was but it came in handy. I was so pleased with my order I sent them an e-mail thanking them they responded to it straight away again late at night. I ordered more liquid on Tuesday night it arrived today with a free sample with it! Amazing service !! I will give you one tip if you get Carto's don't get over-excited filling them all, just do a couple and wait till they are burnt- out (I haven't burnt any yet but I believe this will happen ) Fyi if you haven't completed your order yet the RY4 with Vanilla is amazing :) I am sure other UK retailers are just as good as Vape-Escapes but I'm not in a hurry to find out.

Joye 510 Starter Kit
30ml menthol e liquid
30ml energy cow or turksih blend 8mg
5 x flat tip cartridges

this is all I need, right?

That'd work. My only caveat would be... what if it turns out you HATE one of those 30ml bottles? Might want to break them up & get like, 6x10ml bottles. Good enough to get going, but be prepared to place another order in the very near future (like for extra batteries or a replacement atomizer, you know?). Most serious vapers are backstocked like we're expecting a zombie apocalypse. I for one have enough LR cartomizers to last me at least a year.

That reminds me, gotta order some more, lol...

so for e liquid do I need to buy empty cartomizers or cartridges? Sorry im new!!

The five cartridges that come with the kit will be prefilled, but you can rinse & dry the filling after use and then fill them from a bottle with whatever you want. Don't forget to use a qtip on the inside of the cart to get the last of the other flavor out ;)

Extra carts can come prefilled or not; I'd suggest not. The prefilled ones are generally horrible, since who knows how long those things were sitting in a warehouse in China like that? Better to get blanks and fill them yourself with freshly mixed juice.
