Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
I tried telling this to my hubby and he countered with the fact that I am inhaling and not eating the stuff in juice. He is very stubborn and just wants me off nic, period.

Lay it out for him: Does he want you to SUCCESSFULLY quit or is he trying to sabotage your efforts, because this way WORKS more often than any other method.

Tell him if he keeps at you he'll only drive you to smoke again. That's nothing but the truth.

You may find you can provide family and friends with all the clever facts and anecdotes as to why vaping is a thousand times better than smoking. After all that... you'll still get someone saying "you're still addicted"...

To which I generally reply... and you're still a knucklehead... let's move on.

I'm addicted to coffee, and knitting, and my fav TV shows... Others are addicted to Candy Crush, or shoes, or soccer, or whatever. Everyone has a 'thing' and if it's not harming anyone else, and not doing you any worse than you can handle (like you're not running up debts gambling, or 'enjoying wine' until your liver fries, etc.) then what's the buzz? I'd rather be addicted to something that I can afford, that isn't killing me, and does no bad to those around me, than be so paranoid that anyone can throw the 'addict' label at me that I can't do anything I enjoy. Nuts to 'em!

May I ask why one would be so concerned 'bout known skeptics, family or not?!?!? What do ya gain if ya convince a family member/'friend' that vaping is less harmful than 'bakky? NOTHING, if they don't smoke!

Probably more than 95% of us here know exactly what improvements in our health and life style have resulted from vaping. Do ya want to forever 'tilt windmills' to sate someone else's ego/argument? There are all too many other more worthwhile endeavors beyond trying to convince eternal skeptics.

You've received some valuable info/links to your post. Use 'em and then just 'walk away' from those that truly don't care 'bout your well being. If they did, they wouldn't give ya grief!

Ummmm... BTW, how many of your 'critics' are over weight? NOW, there's a reciprocal worthwhile endeavor; even if ya can't 'tilt' 'em!!

Has he ever been to a bakery? A rock concert? A haunted house?

Most people have frequently inhaled vaporized flavors, PG and VG. What little nicotine is absorbed into your system through vaping may even be beneficial to your overall health.

When a smoker asks me if vaping is "safe", I ask them how many ingredients are in that cigarette they're smoking. Then I tell them there are four ingredients in my juice, none of which is a known carcinogen as far as I know!

When a non-smoker asks me if vaping is "safe", I tell them that I honestly don't know but that logic would dictate that it's less harmful than smoking. :D

Too tired to find and quote the post right now, but somebody was talking about how we unconsciously regulate our dosage and smoke or vape until we have just the right amount of nic. If you want to really sound like you know what you're talking about, the medical term for this is self titration. It's been documented in many studies on both smoking and vaping, though obviously more so in the case of the former.

PG is used in asthma inhalers and in hospital ventilation systems. VG is used in fog machines.

Because then you gain another person who is standing behind you when the brown stuff hits the blades.
And the more non-smokers that stand behind each of us, the more chance we have to gain some ground in this fight.

I bought my wife an Ego about 3 years ago. She tried it for a while and decided it wasn't the same as smoking and nothing I tried satisfied her search for an acceptable cigarette substitute in a vape. She never accepted vaping as a safer alternative to tobacco and called it a crutch (which it is), but didn't mind me vaping.

A few months ago, she decided to quit smoking using a Wellbutrin prescription from the doctor. It worked and she got off the cigarettes. Not long after, she started harping on my ecig and why I didn't just quit vaping. She still refers to it as a crutch. I told her I enjoyed the action of handling the ecig, inhaling and exhaling, and I didn't plan on quitting unless it just became boring. Maybe when I taper off to zero nic, I might quit. Then again, I may not. It's enjoyable.

She finally quit trying to get me to quit vaping. I think my vaping bothered her while she was trying to quit tobacco. Now that she's a couple of months off cigarettes, it's not so much something that reminds her of wanting a cigarette. That's a good thing.

Vaping definitely works to get people off tobacco. I'd bet money that vaping for a lifetime, while not 100% safe, is so much safer than tobacco that the downside isn't a concern. That's just my take. It's probably on a par with using sugar substitutes for actual sugar for those who have high blood glucose issues .

Honestly, I really, really think you need to emphasize that THIS is the method that is actually working and that you'll need to do it until you can lower your nic level to 0.

It's not HIS body or HIS life, it's yours, and you need to tell him that you're doing this for YOU and that it will only work in the way YOU feel is the best. His putting pressure on you is completely counterproductive and will work against the whole process.

Hell, just show him this thread. There is no way in hell I'd be quitting now if it weren't for this activity. I wouldn't have been able to even START. Now I can BREATHE, I can SMELL, I'm not coughing, I don't stink, I don't wheeze.....AND, most importantly, I don't want to smoke cigarettes.

Nothing like a little honest truth to drive the point home to him. He is not YOU and what HE thinks has no relevance on what works for YOU because we are all different people.

It's wonderful that he cares about you but his pushing you like this is a stress you absolutely do not need. Quitting cigarettes is one of THE most difficult things to do in this life.

Well I'm running on 20 days that I quit smoking and I feel great! Problem is...according to my domadora or wife I'm vaping too much and it's like I'm addicted to vaping now..So yeah I feel your pain, first of all I told her that now I'm not killing myself at least not as fast as I were before, and that now that i am stink and smoke free I don't really see the problem with me vaping in my room (studio) when my kids are not present (I never smoked or vape in front of my kids) as much as I want, and I also told her that if she continued nagging me about it (of course I didn't use those exact words I am not dumb) she would probably cause my return to cigs...and glad to say that was the end of that, after a few days cof *weeks* cof of some sort of grind in her face she kind of swallow the enchilada and now she doesn't say a thing...
And needless to say, now I'm worried because I do feel I'm vaping way more than I smoked, but it is just a so damn good feeling and taste it can be bad! right? RIGTH?! :S :D
