I’m not getting it….

Super low resistance in drippers, that is. I mean, I understand why, great flavor and massive vapor production, right? But, the constant need to drip is a pain! IMO.

On my mech mods I typically setup my RDA’s and RBA’s around .8 ohms and on my dna 30 devise I stay up around 1.3 -1.5 ohms. Well this weekend I decided to see what all the fuss is about so I setup my Stillare dripper with dual coils metering out at .3 ohms and wicked with cotton. WOW… great flavor, massive amount of vapor, warm vapor, etc…
At first I thought… I get it!
Then – three hits later – dry hit!
Drip, drip, drip, drip, drip…… three hits…. Dry AGAIN!
10 drops…. 6 hits…. Dry again! WTH!!!

I get the vapor production. I get the flavor. BUT… the constant need to drip… I don’t get. I mean you’d have to have a bottle of juice in one hand and your mod in the other all the time.

Sad to say but I ripped it all out and re-coiled it at .8 ohms.
5 drops… 12+ hits before it gets dry… I can deal with that.

I guess this is where a REO comes in handy!

This is why so many drip-a-holics have gone to "deep well" RDAs... in particular, the Origen V2, Magma and Veritas. I have lots of RDAs - other than the Origen and Veritas, they're all collecting dust.
Also, I've found 0.45Ω+/- to be a "happy medium"... not so low that you vaporize an entire well with two hits, but warm enough to get a good vape-on, never the less.

Also, dripping is good for when you're relaxing at home. I didn't like the idea of dripping until I actually tried it, and it was a huge difference in flavor and vapor from my tanks. The problem I had was I would constantly over-drip. I was fearful of getting those burning dry hits. If you do get a REO, get a low profile so you can put virtually any size rda on it. I just modded cheap Omega and Patriot clones for bottom feeding, and just waiting on Rob to send my new Reo :p

I own and really like my two REO's, I have Raspberries and Cream in my LP sitting in front of me right now.

At night when I am working from home and can sit at my desk I love to drip. I can change flavors on the fly, takes a minute or two and new flavor. I do go with a bit lower of a build, something I don't do on my REO's at the office. I look to be a little more subtle at the office.

All my drippers now are deep wells so I am not dripping as much as you mentioned but if I had to no worries, it keeps me busy.

Until the new release of BF atty's the drippers I had couldn't be matched for flavor, that really isn't true anymore. For me it is relaxing and I just enjoy dripping sometimes.

I sometimes drip at home, but I can't imagine dripping during my commute. I've been sort of looking at Reo's in the classies, but I really do love my tube shaped mods. They just fit in my hands better. I had an MVP 2 for some time, and I liked it, but after using them exclusively for almost 6 months and then moving on to tube shaped mods I don't know if I can go back to a box mod and enjoy it. Then again, it'll be something new to tinker with at home.

Don’t get me wrong – I like to drip when I’m sitting at home or occasionally at my desk at work. But with really low resistance coils, you have to drip all the time. That’s more of a hassle than it’s worth to me.
Until I get that REO that I’m drooling over I’ll coil my drippers in the .7 - .8 range.

I've recently begun using an RDA every day, all day, including a 45 minute (each way) commute to work. I love it.
It kind of reminds me of when I took up pipe smoking at one point in my tobacco smoking career. I would do that on my commute as well.

I've never really had any issues, using a .5 dual coil on a run-of-the-mill dripper (I use omega, castle, tobh) I only need to re-drip once per drive (at a RED light). Yeah, you have to drip throughout the day, but I think that's part of the charm. It keeps my fidgety hands busy.

I used to ask exactly the same question as the OP. Then I got a nice setup and started dripping, and my kayfun for a walmart trip because the juice needed to be used last night, is the first time I've run a tank in probably a month. I took two tanks with me on vacation to Florida a few weeks ago to the beach, but never used them. I wanted to have them in case I got in a situation where dripping wasn't practical or my RDA had problems. But I do have a Magma, so there are probably situations where I would have run the Kayfun if I didn't have the Magma to count on. That things really surprised me, a few times I went on trips into the nearby town and back, about 30 miles round trip, and realized when I got home that I hadn't touched my juice bottle.

Something else that happened unintentionally is I stepped my nicotine way down, I used to vape and drip 18 mg only but I only dripped very rarely. Now that my daily driver out and about mods are drippers, I've switched from 18 mg 50/50 juice to 6 mg juice, lately it's been high VG but I've had a few symptoms from quitting smoking that made me want to try max VG juice to see if it cleared up.

FWIW, my measly opinion a few months ago was that dripping would be messy, or a pain in the ..... Now that I've learned my way around, dripping seems to be the easier, lazier way to vape. And I've also found it less messy overall than I was with my tanks, but some of that could be due to my experience I've gained just from the time I've been vaping in general.

i started out on ce4's, then moved to a trident which i had to drip by taking the tridents cap off as the driptips i was using were to small in id to drip down
then decided to get a reo to save on the hard work of dripping
i bought some rba's to tranform into bottom feeders, which i didnt end up doing as i now have some widebore driptips and dripping is quicker than squonking
i had to go to the shops so i setup my bottomfeed atty on the reo but the whole time i was out in the car i was craving the drippers
so for the last 2months ive been back to dripping and if i have to go out in the car i will stick to the drippers.

to me drippers are quicker and need less cleaning than all the gubbing's that come with squonkers, definatly more satisfying :)
