Hi everyone! ive been reading this forum for a week now reading and researching on whats the best e cig for me. Ive been smoking cigs for the past 14 years and im only 30 years old lol. I have read reviews about blu, voltz, ego etc and so far, the 2 e-cigs that has the highest review especially in this forum is provari and iTaste MVP. so the question is, for a starter like me, what should i choose? i dont want to experiment on other e-cig because im afraid to waste my hard earned money for something that i wouldnt be happy about. I need your insights, opinions, and violent reactions LOL. Thank you very much!

Any ego type kit is a good place to start. Variable. Volts is a nice option of ego type batteries. Decent clearomixers. 2 batteries at least 2 clearomizers a charger and some juice.
Vivi Nova Starter Kit there's a decent starter kit at a reasonable price. Don'forget juice.
if you don't mind waiting up to two weeks.

OP and Blair, do you guys use the Euro plug in Canada? If so, been recommending the wrong link. NBD, just need to know. Totally agree with Brock on Fasttech products, particularly genuine Innokin products and the Vamo's. Welcome and Best to you.

Most of the bottles you come across now are child safe locked with a drip tip on them for easy on the go use, as far as juice goes it depends on if you smoked memthols or regs. There is one company that specializes in mentholated juices however my personal preference right now has been cell block 4 from the standard. Very smooth and the taste is good, sorry no links applied on the phone currently.

Don't worry, the money you are wasting now on cigarettes will be going to a good cause.

Also, agree on Egos. Been using my initial set up for 7 months now. Though, I'd recommend a variable voltage version (Twist or Spinner) instead. Being able to adjust your vape how you want it should increase the chances of success.

Been vaping for 3 1/2 yrs now... first 3 years, used a cig look-a-like and it cut my smoking by 85%. Last September, purchase a Provari, and cut my smoking by 98.7% (yes, I keep track). What really cut down my smoking is the ability to change the voltage. That is probably a feature that you want to look at... in whatever you get.

One of the things that I love about not having a look-a-like is that it completely changes the habit of holding it. Holding a cigarette now feels foreign to me. That would be my next advise... get something that holds differently than a cigarette. You will get use to it fast.

I was in the same boat....32 with a 1 ppd habit for 17 years. I started with an ego and some evod tanks....per advice gotten here. I couldn't be happier with my setup! Smoke free since the day I bought it, sure not looking back now!

I'm relatively new to Evods and still can't get over how good they are - one of those "it just works" devices. Believe me, these have been rare in the past! I'd recommend Evods to anyone, they're that good!

I have only been at this for about two months but I have been obsessed so maybe that qualifies as about 6 months! LOL

I would recommend the Kanger EVOD battery and clearomizer (that's what it's called, right? I am so confused about the different names). It is easy, cheap to replace the coils and pretty simple to fill. The vapor is great and no burnt taste like I got trying to learn how to use the other wicking systems. If you just want something that is quick and easy but gives good vape, I don't think you can go wrong with the EVOD set up. Cheap as well and the colors are pretty awesome.

I have just ordered the MT3S so I will have a larger liquid capacity. I vape a lot and hate refilling. I always refill the EVOD when it is half empty so it won't leak. I have also ordered the Vision Victory Pyrex with larger capacity since I am getting into the citrus flavors as well as the chocolates and absinthe. Apparently the polycarbonate tanks can melt/crack with some liquids. I am also using a Pro Tank with these liquids.

I highly recommend two batteries and at least two EVODs, MT3Ss or whatever you choose. If you are trying to quit smoking and using vaping to replace it, you really don't want to be caught with your battery down or your tank thingie melted or whatever. Make sure to order the replacement coils while you are at it. I had one EVOD come with a coil that was DOA when I first used it. For me, the 2.2 ohm has been the best vape on my EVOD or eGo battery.

I just ordered a variable voltage pass through battery as my fourth battery. The pass through makes it so you can vape while it is charging. Can't believe I didn't charge any of my batteries last night and have had to wait to vape. OH HORRORS!

Behind you!
I always point new people to Ego twist because of ease & reliability of use as a first PV. I started with it and learned alot. I still use it too when im out and about. If your going to start with a mod, the provari is nice and works great. I think most new people underestimate vaping in the beginning. Most people get passionate about their vaping and eventually will try as many types of equipment as possible, which is awesome! All devices, in the end, do the same thing. Some work better than others, but with all things being somewhat equal... find something that you can be happy vaping with.

Hey jeff and welcome.

Sounds like you are thinking about starting out well! You have already had the standard suggestions of ego for first purchases. That is what I started with and it worked well. Within 4 weeks I had a Vamo V2 which is similar to the Provari. This is the point where the Provari owners show up with torches, pitch forks, and a noose. The Provari seems to be a great device but I don't have one. It is a higher end battery mod that is variable voltage (vv). It doesn't yet do variable wattage (vw), yet.

The iTaste I don't have any experience with either so I can't even begin to comment there.

I was not willing to spend the kind of money on a battery mod until I was comfortable this would work. It did work and I could have saved a little money by starting with my Vamo. It only took me a few weeks to buy one anyway. It is VV and VW. It has a little better set of buttons and menus than the Provari IMHO. It is also about half the price of the Provari. With all that said, there is a decent chance I'll end up with a Provari once they add the VW feature. If you are committed and don't mind spending the money then you can ignore the eGo recommendations and go with one of the APV you are considering.

Good luck and let us know which way you go.

While I do like my MVP, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to a beginner. It's big and heavy, not something you would want to take to work or out in public. Have you tried a disposable? They aren't the greatest, but they are a good, cheap way to see if vaping might be something you might like. From there, I would recommend an eGo. The variable voltage ones are about $10 more than the regular ones, so that aspect is up to you. However, I feel like an eGo would not be a waste of money either way. They are a good backup and very concealable. I still take mine to work, despite having moved up in the vaping world. They look like cigs and you won't get many puzzled questions from other people. I'm not one of the people that is huge into variable voltage, so the whole Spinner/Twist thing doesn't really tickle my fancy. I set my stuff and forget about it, unless the juice tastes bad. That is the only time I reset my voltage.

Second, whatever you get to top your eGo is disposable. So get a few different clearomizers and tanks to see what you like best. Each have their own strengths, so when you have to replace them, you will know what kind to buy. Anyways, no matter what you get, the atomizers will only last 3-4 weeks depending on use. After that you have to either replace the heads or buy new stuff. I used to love Kanger MT3's, but now I am more into Vivi Novas and tanks. Things change as you get more into vaping.
