...Literally.

My husband dropped his nemesis off the second floor balcony onto concrete (missed the grass by a mere foot). It then lay in pieces at the bottom. My husband ran downstairs like it had jumped and still could be saved.

The Mephesto is dead. There is no saving it. The positive post fell out.

The Nemesis looks fine. But is there any chance it could be dangerous to use now? I have an Omega I can put on it. But we are hesitant to try it. I'm still a newbie, don't want to screw up.

You'll need a voltmeter....

You'll need to make sure the top cap/top pin isnt shorted.

It should be WAO (wide open) on the lowest resistance scale from the top pin to the case of the mod.

IF the threads are ok and the Switch didn't get tweaked put an old 1/2 charged battery in it and measure VDC from the top pin to the mod case and push the switch.....You should read battery voltage from the top pin (be careful not to short to the threads) to the case of the mod.It should be there everytime you push the switch and it should go away immediately when you release.

THE ONLY HEAT should come from the atomizer...

Good luck!

Ok... I'm sure that's better than a good stare. Even with a squint.

Kevin gave you some great advice already. Just wanted to add that posting some clear pics of anything damaged would be good.

Also, if you're going to take apart the Nemesis switch, take care not to loose the small pin.

It is really simpler than some are making out.

1) Examine the Nemesis for straightness. Any big Dents can mean trouble. Scratches are just war markings and okay.
2) Unscrew all sections feeling for any binding. Lock Ring may have jumped threads, but it can be force unthreaded and put back in place.
3) Is the switch Magnetic or Spring loaded? Check the switch for straight throw and return. Magnets can shatter. Springs probably okay.
4) Inspect top cap. Unthread and reinstall the Center pin in the delrin insulator.
5) If everything looks good and switch is smooth/straight, put everything back together.
6) Install a Battery but no atomizer yet.
7) Work the switch several times to be sure it is functioning properly.
8) If all is good, install atomizer and adjust top cap center pin for contact. and give it a try.
:D
