I'm wild about the idea of kicking my SB. It seems like a hassle to adjust it when switching to a tank with a different OHM coil. I've been turned off from the kick since I saw GrimmGreen's comment about it in a video about how it just melted one day. I'm not turned off for safety reasons, but it seems like a lot for something that might not have the longest performance life.

I took this off Provape forum..... it speaks for itself.....

The same testimony can be found in countless threads all over ECF.

How many threads are there of people who were looking for the best bargain in the $50-$100 price range, and within a year and a half's time have ended up with spending that amount twice again to replace the first purchase due to that unit disfunctioning or being unsatisfactory? Too many to count. These units come with a short warranty, and when it runs its course, so might the APV. As someone else pointed out, its less expensive to buy another unit than to get it repaired....if you can find someplace to do it (good luck with that one).

Then after the bad experiences with those mid-range PV's, they give in and buy a Provari, and kick themselves in the you know what for not going with one to begin with. Just saying, look in the Provari threads if you don't believe me.

Some people are of the mindset that going with the first format described above makes more sense to them, that they can't rationale the steep initial price of a Provari. If they are fine with that, more power to them - whatever keeps them off the smokes. And I realize that not everyone can come up with $200 plus to buy a Provari in one purchase. But some things are just worth saving up for. That's exactly what I did, I don't regret it at all.

Best advice I can give is to get the sleeve/Kick combo for the existing Silver Bullet and 18650 batteries.

or

Save up for the Provari and be done with all the other wanabee's.

GrimmGreen's little adventure into collapsing springs and venting batteries was about the stupidest thing he has ever done!
Who in their right mind would have tried a second time without first seeing what caused the first hot spring to collapse?
The cause of his problem was simply that the center post of his vivi nova was to long, and pushed the positive post of his SB down to far. So which product was at fault the viva nova or the SB? Sure wasn't the kick!
Again, the act of not knowing better by someone that damn well should have known better!

As tj said, Grimm Green's issues were with the length of the connector on the Vivi Nova. Not an issue with the Silver Bullet or the Kick.

Another option to use the Kick w/o the SB extender sleeve would be to get a Kicklett with the Kick at Super T. They were offering the two of them together at one time for $100. The Kick goes into the Kicklett, which goes ON TOP of the Silver Bullet like any juice carrying device, and you can continue to use your 18650 batteries.

Only downside is the overall length of the entire device when everything is assembled. Just tell people its a Taser weapon and to shut up and leave you alone or you'll zap'm ...

The issue is, I need a new device now, and I don't have the money to get a Provari. Everyone telling me to get a Provari isn't helping. If I had 200+ dollars to get a provari I would, but I don't.

I stick to my suggestion of the Vamo. I own one in chrome, a Provari mini, and a GGTS with a Kick. It really does perform side by side with the Provari. It reads resistance the same and set at the same voltage both devices give the same vape (when in RMS mode). I'll grant you that the Provari is made better, feels better in the hand, looks nicer and is much more durable but it doesn't vape any better. The Kick is nice for my setup, because I have it powering an Ody and don't swap attys very frequently. It lets me make my coils close without them having to be just right and adjusts voltage so I get the wattage I want. If I changed the setting often or wanted higher wattage it wouldn't be for me. The Vamo will do a good job for you, but make sure you,ve got high drain batts. Also you've got the luxury of already having a very solid backup device. There are some features of the Vamo that I like better than the Provari. I like the VW and usually leave it in that mode. Also I like the three button/menu setup. I find it quicker and easier to navigate. Don't think that you are "settling" just because you got a Vamo. Just get one and enjoy it.

The issue I'm speaking of was in a video prior to that. I'm not worried about a battery venting and blowing up on me, just after a couple months his kick got fried and he had to get a new one. Something that was no fault of his it just happened, it's man made so it's not perfect. I'm leaning against it just because something like that costing so much if it shorts out I'm stuck high and dry sans device. I'm leaning towards the vemo at this point.

Go for it dude. You know your personal situation better than any of us do. We're not the ones spending your hard-earned money, you are.

The important thing is to keep on vaping, and staying off the smokes. I hope the Vamo works out for you.
