Hello everyone. I need your help with a design I am working on. I need to get the diameter of as many mod batteries as possible. This includes evic, provari, and similar. This only applies to cylindrical batteries. Please reply with the model and a dia and the method in which you got the diameter (calipers preferred).

The diameter of rechargeable batteries is in the first number of a type. For example 18650 batteries are 18mm in diameter, and 65mm in length (including any button, if applicable). A 14500 will be 14mm in diameter...and so forth.

Different APVS take different type batteries, and some take more than one type. Just look at the models you are interested in and look for the suggested batteries, and go from there.

different mods take different size batteries but generally speaking the mod use the same diameter.

Generally speaking, the mod unit will be slighly bigger in diameter than the battery for air flow but not so big to cause the batteries ability to move.

please be advised that mods should only be built by those with the knowledge of doing them. this is for any newb reading this. mods being made by those without the proper knowledge can injure themselves or others. I have personally witnessed a person using his own built mod and have it explode.

I am not designing a new mod battery of any sort so I will not be blowing myself up anytime soon . I am just trying to make sure I have all the mods to my knowledge covered.

The difference between a poorly built mod and a small pipe bomb isn't all to dissimilar.

Internal dimensions of my Vamo is 18.9mm
Smoktech Natural 19.10mm
Gus G22 18500 19.11mm

Measured with digital calipers to the best of my ability... Which isn't much to write home about.

I need the outside diameter if possible.

maybe so, now that he has asked for the outside diameter. I just put little holders (round and square) that normally hold paper clips, pencils, and such and put them on a tray type thing. The tray holds these things very well and gives me a little space for other items to be put. I use model (testor) plastic glue to seal them on the tray and they hold my Vamo, KGO, my charging cords, batteries, clearomizers and a nice little assortment of my e-juice. It looks really nice and will look better once I build a new one - very cheap too btw. didn't bring it with me to Malaysia so not able to take a picture of it.

ok back to the original question. I know you said round so don't know why you are not wanting the box mods - which some people do like to get away from the tube style. In that fact, get a mag-light (brand of flash light) and get the biggest one they have to get the biggest mod built. The reason why is that most of the tube units designed are just modified flashlight mods (mods of a mod). Simple. I don't have my measuring instruments (and don't plan on buying new ones) while out in Malaysia so can't help you with the different EGO, Spinner VV, KGO, Vamo or any other outside diameter. However, if you get the mag flash light and measure it, you will have (i think at least) the biggest personal vaporizer mod unit. The person mentioned earlier was using that particular one. He did not use protected batteries, no venting and had them put in wrong and had a very low resistence atomizer - he also did not seal it so e-juice got into the battery compartment.

I don't know exactly what you are trying to make but you may want to look on facebook because there is somebody who does custom leather wraps and holders for many different types of e-cigs - including the provari, mini-provari, vamo, evic and many many many others. Don't forget the buttons on the units also - they sometimes protrude away from the body unit.

Asking about the diameters and not seemingly communicating what you are wanting exactly (causing some confusion) and not saying exactly what you are trying to build will cause a lot of confusion among many people. There is sections on making wraps and many of the outer measurements are there so people can make their own vinyl wrap type instead of buying j-wraps or others (normally pretty high priced).

Also, I didn't think and don't think anybody else thought you were trying to build a battery. The batteries do explode but that is usually because the mod or unit body (part that holds the battery(batteries)) that was not put together correctly. Since you are not indicating what exactly you are building and because of the confusion and this being the new member section - myself and I think others want new people to understand that building a mod incorrectly is dangerous because it can become a bomb when done incorrectly. It is a normal type of warning because there are some people that have done stupid things in the past; giving many of us users a bad reputation and even being used as evidence of being unsafe and therefore being banned. ECF does not need any trouble and neither do any of us who use this forum caused by somebody trying to build a mod or something and not being warned about the dangers and then getting seriously injured. While they may not have any legal grounds to take ECF or any member to a court - it is a type of moral issue; I won't be able to sleep at night if knowledge that a person got injured based on any advice I gave without warning them about dangers I know to exist. It is therefore a warning so people can't say they were not warned.

This warning also exists for those wanting to make a cover for their unit. E-cigs have special venting areas for the battery, if some type of cover is made that covers the venting, this can cause gasses to build up in a unit and cause the battery(batteries) to explode. If building a unit to hold e-cigs/pv units; remember some atomizers need to be held at an angle (such as the vivi nova clearomizer) to keep the wick wet and not have dry hits. Also remember, it is still a good idea to make sure whatever you use as a material to hold the unit to ensure that proper venting is still able to be done. If the batteries get hot (even when not being used) they can begin leaking and can still cause an explosion (if used when damaged). Laptops and other devices that use this type of battery also warn about venting and not allowing the battery to be overheated, these devices also have several different back up protections built in to ensure the explosion does not occur - even though they do rarely happen. Please ensure to take protection with the unit, not only will this help save money but it can save a life (a child, pet and even your very own).
