Help needed in N.C. to upgrade Wismec RX300 Firmware using Toolbox

My problem is that I'm getting an atomizer short with my RX300. I can't upgrade the firmware on my mod using the Wismec software on my Mac. I would like to try NFE Toolbox but I own a Mac computer and the only PC that I have is too old to install it. I can't ask a friends to install the program on their PC due to fear that the program will mess up their computer and I do not wish to buy a new PC just to get my RX300 to work. I'm asking anyone around the Wilmington area to the Triangle Area and parts in between if they could help me in getting my RX300 working again. Thank You.

How to install Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp

I know about bootcamp but It would cost a $100.00 to purchase Windows 7. While it is cheaper than purchasing a PC I can't be spending that much money only to fix a $50.00 product. I might as well use the $100.00 and purchase a better mod. Thanks for the idea.

Can you take your device to the library, explain what you wish to do, and see if the computer person would be okay with it..... I'm also kinda thinking of an inquisitive Best Buy staff, honestly. I don't know where you live or how librarians might react but the computer guy might be willing to let it pass and upload what's needed, then remove it.

Can you take your device to the library, explain what you wish to do, and see if the computer person would be okay with it..... I'm also kinda thinking of an inquisitive Best Buy staff, honestly. I don't know where you live or how librarians might react but the computer guy might be willing to let it pass and upload what's needed, then remove it.

I just talked to a librarian friend of mine in Raleigh NC. He told me no.

Been there, done that. It does not work. That is why I want to use the mod program NFE Toolbox. There are others in my situation and using NFE Toolbox for the PC is a fix.

Yeah I was thinking that attaching something to one of their computers might be a no-go. I'm sorry. Do you have a large university near you? They will sometimes allow non-students to use a computer with a small fee, though plugging the thing in to upload software is what's freaking people out, I'm sure.

I hope you find a workable solution. Sigh. Something so small shouldn't be so difficult, I used macs a lot at first but there are just too many compatibility issues now, and I went to a windows computer for my new one... I'm glad I did...

Do no friends or family have a PC for you to use?

Updating your firmware on RX300 isn't going to fix the "atomizer short" warning.
