HELP NEEDED!!! Kanger related

I just went through something similar with my protank 2 and protank 2 mini. Went through many packs of coils. It wasn't a burning taste but more like a no flavor harsh burning throat hit. I believe I was dry hitting my tank even with 80/20 thin juice. My issue was with too much air flow. I made a thread on it.

Thats odd. I get more airflow with my Kanger tanks than any other. In fact I actually cover one of the holes with my finger on my mini's. The aero tank of course has adjustments.

am also new, and using a similar setup. I have an ego twist with 2 separate PT2 minis. Had them for about a week and have alternated between the 2. Last night I got the burnt taste, read up on dry burning, took out the flavor wick, dry burned the coil on low voltage and juiced it up, replaced the flavor wick and that coil is running back to normal. So far its doing great since last night. I have read all about rebuilding my own coils and will try that as soon as I can get a tester for them. This forum has helped wonders so far just by lurking, figured I was ready to join the ranks and sign up, First post, be gentle!

After lurking here and reading through these threads

and watching the vids on rebuilding Pro tank coils on Youtube I now rebuild them myself and they work WAY better. I wrap
30ga kanthal on a 1/16" drill bit, 10 wraps gets me to about 1.5-1.6ohm. I use organic cotton wicks with just a wisp of cotton for a flavor wick. This might seem like a lot of work, but I get a week or more out of these rebuilds with 50/50 juice. After you've done it 3-4 times it only takes about 5 minutes. When they start tasting "burny" I pull the wicks, dry burn the coils and re-wick. A few of my coils are more than a month old and still work fine with a new wick.. Best of luck getting it sorted!!

Ok, got back from Alt Smoke a little bit ago and everything is completely sorted out! I explained everything I explained here and the guy was baffled just like me, said he had never heard of anything like that happening. I tried my battery on the evods they use for their juice bar with no problem at all. The only thing he could think was that there was some connection issue with the evods that was creating a power surge or something like that. They gave me the money towards some new tanks and off I went. Big ups to Alt Smoke for their excellent customer service, at no point did I feel like I was on trial or that they wouldn't do whatever they could to make it right by me.
