At first it sounded like the wicking just wasnt able to keep up with your vaping tendencies, but your using 70-30 pg-vg so don't see why it wouldn't be able to.

Maybe the battery is malfunctioning after leaving it in the freezing cold and firing higher then you've it set. Never happened to me but ya never know. It shouldn't be getting hot. Tried using another battery?

i had a similar issue i had just a drop of moisture in i think its called the 510 connectors on my mvp and the tank
i dried it with a rolled up piece of toilet paper "to a point" to get right in. did this on the the tank connector as well
and no more funny taste also read that you should never let your tank get low on juice because when you tip
to take a hit some of the intake holes are not getting juice and burning could happen .i hope this helps someone.

It's not your battery. Battery usually works or doesn't, I doesn't just "put out additional voltage". I had forgotten, but the guy above is also correct, just on the wrong side so to speak. Take your atomizer out of the nautilus check the spring to the pin in the 510. Make sure no juice puddled down there. This is likely your problem. Could also have a short in the atomizer, most twist batteries if that's what you're using don't protect vs res drops. Get a cheap vv/VW mod.

You can check the battery with a voltage meter.
Take the Nauti off of it, put your red meter lead on the center post and the black meter lead on the outer ring.
Hit the fire button and see how many volts it is putting out.

My best guess is that the battery is performing as it should. You are overpowering and underwicking would be the most likely issue.
Change coil, dial down voltage, use a 50/50 pg/vg mix, prime and give it another try... also, if you are chain-vaping, you're increasing the odds of getting that dry hit again... might need to slow it down a bit...

I dont have the setup to check my battery voltages. But I might tend to chain vape. I'm redoing all the process right now and will let you know of the results.

A decent, inexpensive multi-meter is a must-have for troubleshooting vape equipment. I found it to be an invaluable resource, even when using the most basic gear... in the world of mechanicals and rebuildable atomizers, it is an absolute necessity... Basically, I'm just saying that it would be a sound investment for you to have a piece of equipment that can measure voltage and resistance...

But, yeah, go through everything and let us know how it works out. :)

What's with the attitude? As my mum used to say "If you can't say something nice don't say anything".

Why didn't you just go to bed?

thanx all for the answers. I did pull a few draws before hitting the battery to get the wick well soaked.
I changed the coils for a third time this morning and also put some new juice in it.
So far so good, but its been only a few hours and a few draws only, no chain vapes either.
I have maybe tought of something else that could of cause the problem; I was vaping a Vanilla cupcake juice, and I tought it might be the juice that sticked to the coil after burning. I,ve read that these types of flavors can do this to the coil.
to be continued...

so I,ve beenvaping on my new tabacco flavor juice, which is pretty clear compared to my other vanilla cupcake juice and I,m not having any dry hits at all.
I would say, for those interested that the most probable cause is dark, buttery, vanilla flavors of ejuice that was grunking my coils in a heartbeat.

That could certainly be it. I've a number of juices that gunk up fairly quick (over the course of a week or so) the coils. Do a quick Youtube search for "dry burning aspire bvc" and check it out. I've been cleaning and dry burning my coils for a few weeks now, I have them in a rotation, and so far it's pretty much quadrupled the life of my coil. As soon as I start getting off-tastes and more frequent dry hits, I swap and repeat. Has been a life-saver. Plus you'll be amazed how close a cleaned and dry burned coil can taste to a fresh out-of-the-box coil. Carry on, my man.
