I suggest a Provari and an IBTank. If you look on the advanced search option on this forum, there are plenty of reviews (and people that love them). The Provari is pricey initially, but it will last you a very long time. Good luck!

I've had my Provari mini since 12/2012, and I've never had a single problem with it. I used it exclusively for about 8 months before I bought my first mech, and now I switch back and forth between my Provari and my Nemesis, depending on what topper I want to use.

Pro tank rebuilds are easy. You can also just remove silica and replace it with cotton but after you remove silica dry burn coil then insert cotton you need to put a few drops of ejuice on the cotton before you put the stem back on. I had the same issues with cooked juice on my pro tanks but like CreepyLady said higher volts or watts will bake it up. IMHO I think you should just get a kayfun lite plus or clone version. They are designed for rebuilding and I think they are a easier build then messing with that insulator on the protanks. To change juice pull cotton dry burn coil reinstall new cotton add a few drop of juice and fill tank. Flavor, Vapor and tank size is awesome (they hold 2x the juice of protank). Since I got mine I retired all my pts pt2s.

The real issue with the protank is in the design. Its bottom coil with the coil sitting 1/8 of a inch or less from the fluid. Every time its fired the cup that the coil sits in warms up too. The cooling for this is your juice. The kayfun has a chimney that keeps your juice away for this area till its ready to wick. So bottom line if your looking to vape all your juice in a tank without baking it go with a different topper than a protank series.
