Hello...
I am new to this forum but have been vaping for a while now, I recently bought the 150w cuboid and im going through a fair bit of liquid.
So it seems the obvious thing to do is make my own, I would like to know the best way of doing that though without using google, and ending up on overpriced sites with poor quality flavours etc.
Any help or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks...

I started a few months ago. IIRC, I got a liter of 100mg nicotine, a liter of PG and a liter of VG. I mixed the PG & VG to my general preference minus 15% PG. The reason I started off subtracting PG was that flavoring is carried in PG. So, if my total flavoring is 15%, then I will be where I want to be as far as PG/VG ratio. Once the PG/VG was mixed, in my case a 500ml bottle, I added 10ml of the nic. Which equates to my preferred 2% nic content. I know that isn't perfection of exacts, but it is close enough for me. That 510ml bottle is now my base liquid.

For simplicity, I make samples in 5ml sizes. I figure my total percents for flavors, say 15%, subtract that from 100 and get 85. The 85 percent is my base. That is great if I was making a 100ml, but I want to divide it down to 5ml. I divide all by 10, then divide again by 2 to get final amounts to go in my 5ml sample bottle.

Maybe someone can review my practice and provide input. For my 5ml bottle, it usually comes out to 4.25ish ml of base and each ingredient is somewhere about .3ml (5 flavors). With a black marker, I write the recipe number on the bottle and into a drawer it goes.

I don't necessarily follow recipes perfectly. Knowing flavors and how they behave in a mix is important to me and I consider that to the best of my ability.

Some use calculators, but I just keep it simple for me. It is all trial and error to find what I like. I do take lots of notes.

I am pretty new to diy myself. Today is my first day of vaping what I made. To keep it simple I used ecigexpress and bought a premixed base. For me it's 70% VG 30% PG @ 6mg nicotine. I use Flavourart flavors and the Flavourart recommended %'s chart. With the YAEC calculator it stays easy. I mixed a couple of single flavor tests and a couple 2 flavor combos. Today I am enjoying a nice tobacco carmel. Good luck and have fun.

To take the drama out of flavoring dilute some commercial e liquid you already know you like. 50/50 should be a no brainer. 25/75 usually works fine. At first the flavor might seem muted but then your sense of taste adjusts by getting more sensitive. This is a low risk way to get started mixing. Builds confidence.

P.S. and you are turning that $20 bottle of pre-mix into an $5 bottle. You'll like that too. I mix with 1% favoring. My cost is 1.2 cents per ml, 8 cents a day, $30 a year. My nic came from myfreedomsmokes

Danny,

These are all in the UK, well, apart from the dropper bottles.

Here for 72mg nicotine base liquid. The UK's legal maximum for nicotine liquid is 72mg.
7.2% Nicotine (VG Base)
This is Vegetable Glycerine.
Best use this to keep the finished liquid reasonably thick.

But there again if you need it to be thinner get some Propylene Glycol nicotine base liquid. Here :
7.2% Nicotine (PG Base)

Here's some Vegetable Glycerine base/cutting liquid. Used to make the bulk of you e-liquid.
5 LITRE VEGETABLE GLYCERINE EP/USP FOOD/COSMETIC GRADE

And here's some Propylene Glycol base/cutting liquid if you prefer thinner e-liquid.
5 LITRES MPG Propylene Glycol (PG) USP/EP GRADE

Here's a page full of e liquid flavourings. Cheapest you'll find on the internet.
flavor concentrate | eBay

And here's a place to buy some dropper bottles. These ones have a long plastic tip which make it easier to refill your tanks without having to use anything else such as a syringe. Ships from Hong Kong and takes about two weeks. I couldn't find anywhere local that sells these types of long tip bottles and i searched for ages. Trust me they are a lot more practical than any other type.
3-100ml Empty Plastic Dropper Childproof Cap Squeezable Bottles e-juice E-Liquid

You're going to need some syringes and some blunt needles. Look here :
2ml 5ml 10ml 20ml Syringes Blunt Needles Refill INK Shisha Juice Vapes Glue | eBay

The nicotine base is 72mg so a quarter of that is 18mg. So using 5ml of that equates to 18mg when you finish making say 20ml of e-liquid. Easy right !?. If you're cutting 72mg nicotine base liquid down to 18mg all you need to do is make sure the nicotine base liquid is a quarter of the total volume of the finished liquid you are making.

So to make 20ml of e-liquid with for example 18mg of nicotine.

5ml of VG nicotine base liquid.
13ml of VG cutting liquid.
2ml of flavouring.

Shake for a few minutes and you’re done.

That's how i like it. That's 90% VG / 10% PG. The flavouring is PG based.

If you do need it thinner you could use a lot more flavouring if you wanted or use the Propylene Glycol nicotine base and cutting liquids instead of VG. Propylene Glycol is thin like water. Vegetable Glycerine is much thicker. I don't know how thick you need it but some people like it much thinner.
