A Friend "gave" me his used ecig to try...and if I like it, pay later. It is an itaste MVP. From what I've researched, it is an older model. No instructions. No charger but I have phone charger that worked. Looks like I'll tail piping too...no tip...just straight metal out the reservoir. It goes up to 5 volts. 11 watts. He told me to use the 1.5 v coil but I don't think that's right. First question... is this unit any good? He wants $45 if I buy it. I'm thinking that's too much. Second...I don't want candy flavored juice. I want something close to the Marlboro's I'm used to smoking. Any suggestions? I bought some by REVOLUTION...called "Manhattan". Its OK but not quite what I'm looking for. It is 2.4%. I'm thinking as a 40 yr two pack a day smoker I need stronger, right? Right now, I'm vaping and smoking. Hoping I can quit the analogs altogether. Any advice how I might be successful? Matter of fact, any and all advice will be appreciated. Oh...if I don't buy this one, what model do you suggest?

Is there a vape shop near you? That's awful high for that mod. I see you are new. You want to get started and don't have time to read everything in this forum (you must). Check out the vendors list at the bottom and get you some NET's (Naturally Extracted Tobacco) juices to try. After you read EVERYTHING in this forum get yourself to FASTTECH in china and get some decent equipment and vape your brains out. Careful with the nicotine levels (18 is as high as you should go to start). Hope that helps. If you can't wait go to a vape shop and ask them to help you out. Bring your checkbook though. At least if they are half way knowledgeable they can get you started. No used equipment for you bro.

An Istick is a popular variable wattage device (again if you can wait ten days) from fasttech. they also have tanks that can get you started. just dump juice in em screw it on the device and there you go. No drip tip? not much of a friend yo. Make no mistake, everybody (EVERYBODY) on this site wants you to get free of analogs.

The subtank above will blow serious clouds and may be too much for you. a resistance of 1.5 ohms is more appropriate for a noob. Again I urge you to read the forum before you make a major purchase. It's so much easier for the new folks now. You can get started and find your happy place without blowing wads of cash.

Hello and welcome to the forum @chevyblue. Glad to have you here!

Pass on that battery. 2/3 years ago it was very good. There has been a lot of innovation since then with higher wattage devises.

I often recommend an iStick 30 watt (battery) with an Aspire Mini Nautillus or eLeaf GS Air M (tank). Videos below.

Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

I agree with Susan above. You do NOT want any mod that cannot fire a MINIMUM of 30 watts. The Aspire Nautilus mini recommended above is pretty much top of the line vape before you grow into sub ohm vaping. Sub ohm vape is more geared towards lung hits as opposed to mouth to lung like smoking. The Nautilus is more for mouth to lung like a cig and a high quality vape.

The 30 watt minimum is so you can grow into sub ohms down the road if you desire without having to buy another mod(battery). Here is a really good price on a 40 watt mod with temp control : Eleaf iStick 40w Temp Control Mod Full Kit - $29.99! Temp control is using a special coil in the tank that is readable by the mod so as to keep you from getting bad dry hits or burning the coil (which are replaceable). You don't really need temp control coils to use this mod but it's there if you decide to go sub ohm. It works just like a regular mod when not in the tc function.

I'm a Reo vaper so I won't give you any advise on hardware, but if you are looking for the flavor of a Marlboro cigarette then you should try vaping unflavoured ejuice because some say that is exactly what it tastes like. You can Diy your own for pennies on the dollar.
