Can the Zelos be used passthrough? Vape while charging? I know the Pico can. Still weighing the decision and also looking into the Innokins

I was always very happy with my Innokin products - have an MVP3, Coolfire IV 75 watt, Coolfire IV 100 TC, and a Smartbox. I liked them all and I liked the Innokin tanks. They do make a 1.2ohm coil for those who need a higher nic %. I also recommend the Enduras to beginners. JMHO

If he is a 2-3pk a day smoker and vaping nic only doesn't work for him, consider WTA e-liquid.
It's more expensive, but using it for a few months, then tapering off to nic only, was the only way I could quit.

I think I have it all figured out. I am thinking about the Eleaf Ipower 80 and then I have a Mello tank that came with my Pico Dual that I am not using. This will get him started for under $30. I am going to mix him up some juice and hopefully he will like it and stick with it.

Well, I sent his sister links to the Eleaf iPower, The Zelos and the Joyetech Mini. She liked the Joyetech but went looking for it cheaper and ended up buying the Joyetech EVic AIO a couple of batteries and a charger. looks like it is just a built in version of the Cubis style tank so I am sure it will work for him, but I don't know much about them.

I’m sure that set up will work fine. Keep us in the loop.

Trig, I didn’t lose my affinity to the T22 tanks, lol. It’s just the way OP told the story it sounded like they were looking for a simple solution due to his situation.

I've heard the melo tanks that come with those picos are leaky..
Not mine. I did get a tank with a busted o ring on the installed coil, but once that was addressed, the Melo has worked reliably.

The Melo is a good, but not great tank. It does both MTL and DL but won't knock anyone over with either.

I like @Letitia's suggestion of the Toptank. That tank is fuss free and delivers. Get a Pico kit, add a Toptank. He's good to go and can change flavor by changing the tank.

That will probably be next, lets see how the Evic AIO works, it may be all he needs or we may have started him on a lifetime journey

Thanks all for all of your helpful suggestions, it was very helpful in selecting what I hope will be the right set-up for this guy. I was trying to pick something but I have more experience as a Mod Whomper . I usually just recommend the Pico but wasn't sure about what he would need or want especially for a tank and a simple set-up. I appreciate all the suggestions and I am sure he and his sister do too.

The N2 is somewhat flexible as well, as it does come with a 0.7 coil which is capable of doing a DL kit. The zelos is passthrough and an excellent mod. If you got the 75 watt version that would certainly last all day, regardless of which coil he is using. The 50 watts would probably be fine as well. I do think the Melo III tanks are pretty versatile too, though. I prefer the flavor of the N2 coils, however.

Best of luck, and what a nice thing you are trying to do for this gentleman, I hope it works out.

I have used my 50W pretty hard and it lasts through the day with no prob. But that’s tootling at 9W. Lol

One tank that gets overlooked in most discussions is the Kabuki clone. I know many of you have the real thing and love it, but the clone is a very good tank. I have one and just ordered two more from FT for $17.76 total with coupon code.

It has its’ quirks. The coil sticks in the chimney some times. If you don’t keep the bottom o ring lubed it will be hard to unscrew. On mine, the airflow screw seems to walk in by itself, so every day or two I have to reset it.
But it has good flavor, excellent air flow, and is very sturdy for a clone.

I have an original Kabuki and a clone. I can't say I loved the clone, and I still haven't gotten it up and running after the breaking my coils in half situation. With that said, yes, the chimney is an issue and also, the taste is nowhere NEAR the real thing, though it may be better than an N2. Having a 3 ml capacity is a real plus, however, compared to the N2 which is more like 1.8 ml or so. I do have to crank the wattage a bit to get a similar flavor. It's not terrible. I actually prefer the Vika fantasy clone over the Kabuki one (9 bucks) once you get rid of the horrific drip tip. It's a similar design to the kabuki, but the clone is of way higher quality (IMO). With that said, that style of atomizer (even cloned) has huge benefits over the N2-- easier fill, set and forget airflow, and bottom fill that's really, really easy. It's not a leaker at ALL, and I'd say it's probably a better vape, for less money, than the N2. Though some folks don't like buying clones, I'd take a Vika Fantasy clone over the original N2, though I will always have an N2 in my lineup, possibly, depending on how RTA builds continue to progress....

I did not have great luck with the Evic AIO types..... YMMV
It is what it is, since his sister went rogue and ordered it. It should be fine. My brother loves his cubis tank, just sometimes have to fling out the chimney to stop spitting. I'll make sure he knows that.
