I'm considering the Joye 510T...I haven't been able to do an extensive amount of research, and would like some quicker advice. Is there another model that's overtaken the 510? I know it was one of the best a while back, don't know if it's still the most popular. Also, where would be a good place to get whichever model is suggested? And where's a good place for getting DIY juice materials? Thanks in advance.

Depending on if you want a cigarette "like" (size and automatic) device, i hear the smoove ecig is good. If it doesnt have to resemble an actual cigarette then I would recommend an eGo twist, with the c-tank system or just the eGo-C. I'm not sure about good DIY vendors, but I hear "Totally wicked E liquid" has some great prices and they have tested and posted the results of their eliquids.

If you want a cigarette size ecig, most people on this forum would suggest the Volt from Smokeless Image. I haven't used one, but apparently it is a quality product from a company with outstanding customer service. Get the 78mm one (has a longer battery life) and the manual version instead of the automatic.

Understand that the main drawback of the cigarette size units is that they don't last very long between charges. If you can handle something bigger, such as the X2 from Smokeless Image or a KGO, you will get a battery that lasts all day. HoosierECig, Dark City Vapor and SweetVape are the vendors most people around here seem to buy the KGO from.

For juice ideas, go hang around on the General E-Juice subforum here and you will find a lot of juices to try. Just remember to buy small sample sizes at first. One person's favorite juice is someone else's most hated juice, so take all recommendations with a grain of salt.

Keep an eye on the following thread, which has some good suggestions: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/316363-brand-new-e-cigs.html

I think I'll go with one of the eGos. Whats the difference between the twist with the c-tank and the eGo-C? Also, where's the best place to get either one?

Good choice, you wont be disappointed. Well, the eGo-C uses the c-tank system which is really easy to use and beginner friendly. However, the eGo-C battery is just a regular battery. They come in two sizes small(er) and big(ger) the smaller battery wont last as long as the bigger one but it doesnt matter much since you get two anyways. Instead of the eGo-C battery you could get a eGo twist battery to go with your eGo-C tank system (which I would recommend). The eGo twist battery also comes in two sizes but the smaller size for the twist is the same size as the bigger size of the eGo-c battery. But the great thing about the twist is that you can twist (adjust) the voltage and that gives you the ability to find the sweet spot of where your juice tastes best. That is why I will be buying a twist to replace my original eGo battery that stays only at one voltage and you cant control the hit.

So, as for where you could pick up the set up...There are many good vendors, the cheapest ive seen for the twists is Vaperite.com - Electronic Smokeless Cigarettes, Joye ego C,Siam mods, Natural and Organic Vape e cigarette Juices. Once there goto shop-->ego-C system. There you will find "650 mah eGo twist". Get two.
Next, you will need the c-tank system so go back to shop-->ego-C system and find "eGo C Cone w base 2 atty Pack".
Then, you will need "XL eGo T/C carts Translucent Type B". Get two.
Finally, get yourself an ego charger( both the part that plugs into the wall and the cord part that plugs into that ) just like a cell phone or ipod charger set up would be.

Oh and if you need juice get some of that too. :) hope that helps

I would not get an ego unless you get the ego twist.

The ego is on 3.3-3.4v whereas the kgo is 3.7. Every ego user I have met who tried my x2 (kgo with 808 threads) immediately switched.

The ego t has leaking issues. You are better off with a kgo and a vivi nova and some bottom coil ce3. Avoid things with filler like carto tanks and the ego t. The filler mutes flavor.

If you absolutely are dead set on an ego, just get the battery, some ce3s and then a vivi nova for something that holds a lot of Juice.

For DIY supplies, check out wizard labs. Awesome prices on vg, pg, nic base and flavors.

If I buy an eGo starter kit, can I add a twist later?

What's the difference between the eGo and the KGO? Looks like they both have the 510 fittings. Is that the most important consideration? I mean, I know I have to be concerned about matching resistance and voltage, but is everything with 510 fittings modular?

I've spent the last few hours bopping around the forums as well as vaper sites and YouTubes, and this community definitely has its own jargon. I am most grateful to Mr. Busardo for his Vaper's Glossary. (His white-on-black color scheme, not so much. Thanks be to God for the Clearly Chrome extension.)

Kgo is a knock off, but IMHO a better product. A genuine ego is regulated to 3.3v (very low). The kgo is a 3.7v device. It starts at 4,2v then moves to 3.7 and stays there most of the time until it gets to about 3.2 and them shuts down.

You get a better vape with the kgo because you have more volt which equals higher watts. The vape on the ego is more consistent. You will get the same watts n the first puff and the last.

Just curious, if yo want to add a twist later, why not just buy a twist now? You don't need a starter kit, we can help you put together everything you need to get started and probably be equal to or less than a genuine joye starter kit. I'm not sure which kit you are looking at, but personally, I wouldnt touch the the ego-t with a 10ft pole.

Do not buy the joy510t. Joye makes great batteries with the ego and ego twist and other, but the mini is horrible and expensive, they are only 150mah batteries. If I want a mini, get a volt from smokeless image, otherwise get a twist

Here would be a nice setup for you if like the twist. Prices are from altsmoke. Good company, great customer service

1 ego twist. 1000mah. $26
1 ego twist. 650mah. $23
1 charger. $8
1 vivi nova $13
1 pack of bottom coil ce3. $10
1 case $10
FIRSTORDER coupon. 10% off
You get a far superior set up here than the ego t kit for $81. Now you don't need all this. But this will beat any vape you can get from ego t or c kit.
A bottom coil ce3 will last 3 times longer than a carto, knee and gives better vapor. The vivi nova is completely rebuildable. You can buy new heads and of you are at all handy, can recoil them yourself in under 2 minutes

I am a total newb and have only bought two disposables(mystique and blu) to try this vaping thing but knew there must have been something better then these harsh ones and even better than the starter kits I have seen. Have read enough forums to recognize when someone else knows more than me so I went ahead and ordered this setup late last night, but with 2 1000mah instead of a 650, and also a couple menthol flavor, (my preferred analog as you guys put it) a cuban, hickory and just for fun Tiramisu, 5ml samplers. I look forward to trying this out. Thanks for the info!:toast:

So I ordered the above with some samplers and the variable voltage is nice for me even as a newb. The CE3 are a nice way to carry some different flavors and they seem to hit nice. I was a bit intimidated by the vivi tank not knowing what juice I really like but after the cuban smooth and a couple of hours of switching between 3 flavors in the CE3's, I went ahead an loaded up the vivi with some hickory flavor and I don't really know this from that but I do know I like the vivi with the hickory. Thanks again for the info and I think it is fair to say i am enjoying the e-cig experience much more now then when I was playing with the disposables.

I ordered this (I woulda gone for the vivi nova setup, but I jumped the gun) and can't help but notice that the cartridge and the cone don't seem to be the same type =\
