Help please, starting to get baffled

Hi there,
I posted yesterday, that I've just started vaping as an alternative to smoking, currently using nicolites that I got from the supermarket, going well so far, no analogs today :)
Chrissie I think it was recommended ego or riva, problem doing a search for those just confused me even more, it's all so damn complicated!
Thought I would list what it is I want and see if some of you experienced vapers might be able to help me.
Nicolites are fine for now, enjoy the taste etc, but the battery only seems to last a few hours (granted I'm vaping a lot) and the cartomiser replacements are expensive compared to others (VIP) for example.
I'm trying to plan what I'm going to buy next week on payday.
for now, I'm not interested in any fruity flavourings, just plain old tobacco flavour, currently vaping 16mg but suspect I probably need a little higher nicotine.
I'm also not ready for anything that I have to fill myself, don't like the idea of messing around with e-juice at this point.
What I would like is a not too expensive kit, (I'm vaping for now to save money) maybe just straight forward screw and replace cartomisers like nicolites have, but I would like a PV that doesn't look like an analog and has a better battery life
hope that all makes some sense
thanks for all the help here

There are some vendors that sell prefilled cartomizers with tobacco flavors. They are expensive & that is why most folks buy juice & fill cartos themselves. Saves $$
However as a newbie it might be good for you to start with prefilled for awhile then go to the filling routine when you are ready for that. This is the way I started.
Have you looked at Johnson Creek website? They have Vea starter kit, prefilled cartos, & empty cartos & juice. That might be an easy start for you in a one-stop-shopping experience. Best to keep it simple while learning. My 2c

As Chrissie suggested the Riva is an excellent PV especially if battery life is an issue. "If" you really wanted to save $$ the E-Power is better in the long run. Extra Riva batts are $18 each while extra E-Power batts are 2 for $9.00. Both are 3.7 volts and give apporox. 10? hrs vaping. Both highly regarded PVs.
Good Luck.

Ellen, this is a fantastic deal on a Riva 1100 mAh (The higher the mAh the longer the battery lasts between charges - I should imagine your nicolite is only about 180 mAh) use discount code ECR10 for 10% off -

The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

However, you would have to fill & refill the cartomisers & vision ego that comes with that kit, but it really is easy.

Another alternative though would be the SD key ring that comes with prefilled cartomisers it's really small but a decent mAh of 300 for such a small sized battery -

The SD KeyRing Ecig £13.99 - Basic Vaping Kits - SD KeyRing Ecig Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

And for more of the prefilled cartomisers -

SD KeyRing Prefilled Cartomisers £6.99 - Vaping Spares - Cartomisers Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

Good advice. And my 2c is don't fear refilling cartos it is super easy just takes a little time if your not using a syringe

I suggest you get a Kgo starter kit. They are reasonably priced, true 3.7v devices and are relatively simple to use.

As for refilling, let me try and break this down for you.

You can normally get a 5 pack of pre-filled for about oh...what $8?

Now you are probably going to need about 2 per day (at least) so 2/5ths of 8 is what $3.20.

Now, if you buy even a juice that is in the medium to high price range at say $17 per 30ml, this cost of refiling those same cartomizers will be about $1.12. Obviously you will still need to buy cartomizers from time to time, but you really only need 1-2 of those per week. So, figure this out, day after day, wasting $2.08.

The price gets even worse if you think you might need more than 2 cartos per day, and most people do.

Beyond that, the juice in most pre-filled cartomizers is awful. You can get high end juice at a third of the price you'd be getting the crappy pre-filleds for. If you can use a paper clip and a dropper bottle, you can refill. Housewives everywhere are doing it for heaven's sake. Please refill? For me?

You did ask about nic level. You're at 16, bump to 24mg.

Thanks, I'm in England, so I dont want to buy from abroad and pay international shipping fees. I really really don't want to get involved with syringes and liquids, it isn't about how easy or difficult it is, I'm just not comfortable with it. I've looked at the sd e cig I like the idea of that. I'm assuming that you can't just buy standard batteries that you can add any cartomisers onto? It seems like you have to buy cartomisers and batteries that are brand specific, riva for example warns not to use other pre-filled cartomisers as it can damage the battery

Didn't realize you were in the UK. There's absolutely zero need to refill with syringes, especially if you are using poly fill cartomizers. You pop off the little plastic cap with a paper clip, drip some juice down the sides, replace cap, done.

Ellen, if you go for an e-cig with a 510 thread, then any other 510 atomiser/cartomiser etc will fit it. The only thing you would have to be careful about was the resistance of the cartomiser as some batteries don't cope with LR (Low Resistance), but if you stick to anything shown as SR (standard Resistance) to begin with, you would be fine.

Here is a list of some other good UK suppliers for you to check out -

Wavey, what's the name of the shop in Heywood? Are you allowed to say? I think it would make life easier for me to go into a brick and mortar shop to get my hands on some of this stuff, see how it works, and ask questions etc

Hello Ellen,

The problem with what you are looking for is the fact prefilled cartridges are VERY expensive.

Want to keep everything REALLY simple?

Do this then-

Buy a Kgo kit with 2 batteries along with some tobacco juice of your choice and two 5 packs of Boge low resistance 2 ohm cartomizers.

Then just fill them up and you will be good to go.

The big cost of all this will be the pre filled carto's AND it only takes about a minute of your time to fill your own.

I have a lot of different equipment here to screw around with BUT what is really important to me is those Boge 2 ohm cartomizers and a fresh battery. That is all I REALLY need to stay off the analogs. Everything else is just "stuff" I buy to play around with.

THE EGO TWIST IS A GAME CHANGER - YouTube Grimm Green Twist Game changer

This is exactly what I would get. If you have about 85 bucks to spare I'd just go ahead and order it all tomorrow.

Two Joyetch eGo-C Twist 650 mah (milliamp/hour) batteries. They come in black, chrome, blue, white, and pink, wih the first three far easier to find in stock anywhere but at Health Cabin (in China - delivery takes a while). About (Two x $25) = $50.

One or more Smoktech 3.5ml (milliliter) "DCT" tanks - I like the chrome ones. $8.55 each.

A box of five - or better yet, two boxes - of Boge 2.0 ohm single coil "XL" sized (50mm overall) stainless steel cartomizers. About $1.45 each, although you can get them for $0.92 each if you buy 25 of them from a particular vendor that I'll link to below.

A wall charger and a USB charger that plugs into it. Standard fare at any Joyetech vendor. About $13.

A little chrome trim piece that goes between the tank and the battery that serves two purposes; makes the setup look much more finished, sleek, and damn fine-looking, and keeps the tank from sliding down the non-flanged cartomizers and onto the outside of the 510 connector. Simpler than it sounds. About $1.49

A drip tip. Just a plain, clear "Delrin" (plastic) one will look great. About $3.

That's about $85.50 plus shipping if you get one tank and five cartomizers. In Connecticut, that's about ten days of smoking a pack a day (high taxes).

Thanks for all the advice everyone, you have all been great, it seems there are less medical looking ways of refilling and if I want a decent kit I'm going to have to go with it. I plan to make a visit to the shop on Tuesday, seems a lot better than just ordering online. Had no idea there was a vaping shop so close to me. Will let you all know how I get on

Sounds great. You are one of the very few lucky ones that has a shop nearby. I once drove 260 km for juice and I think you'll be coming back here on Tuesday with a BIG GRIN.
Good Luck.
