It sounds like the clearo shorted and not the batt. Always a good idea to have a DIGITAL multimeter on hand.

yes before it burnt out i have tested it with boge lr cartomizer... it did work.
Tryed installing clearomizer... and it burnt right away... some battery liquid came out.. smell like crap!

Oh I know...the technology of vaping is pitiful but improving all the time. I drive a full size luxury sedan and have had many recalls. Nothing's perfect esp in the vaping world. You'll find a multi meter is a valuable tool- tells the health of the batts, etc. I learned the hard way to test everything.
Here's a reasonably priced one:

i actually have one of those.. Just didnt come to my mind to start testing new product..
i emailed both hoosiers and cloudsofvapor. While hoosiers is willing to replace a batt, i didnt get a responce from cloudsofvapor yet.
I think it would be fair if cloudsofvapor replaces my vision clearo and my batt, rather then hoosiers replacing my bat.

Lets see what happens.

thanks for the help friend.

Hmmmm
Guess I won't splurge on a clearomizer for my kgo.
I'll just keep using those old fashioned Boge LR 2.0 cartomizers.
Thanks for the heads-up Felix.

I wouldn't let that put me off clearomizers. They really are great. Cartomizers aren't immune to having a defective one slip through either. If there's no circuit to prevent it, a shorted carto will mess up a battery just as well as a clearo.

If you want to be safe in the future, meter them before use. You should do that anyway, just to check how accurate their resistance rating is, if for nothing else. If the resistance is 0, then don't use it. It has a short. Send it back. Most places have a DOA warranty just for that occasion.

While i like vaporizing and not smoking analogs.. This is becoming a lot of hassle..
Not only there is overwhelming info to learn in order to have a proper vape, i have to deal with cheking brand new cartomizers and clearomizers with electric machine.

Picture your self purchasing brand new car, and taking it apart to see if everyting works properly.

Sorry that happened...I've bought two KGOs from Hoosiers and just ordered a third and the batts are still going strong. And I do not own a meter and don't intend to.
I will say the fact that they agreed to replace your battery when it failed after a couple of weeks is a testament to good customer service, since the site specifically claims they'll only replace batteries that are dead on arrival. A KGO battery replacement is $15-17 so it's not really analagous to a new car....

Wow. Now THERE is something that somebody should sticky (if it isnt already). Is this rare or should every new product be tested? Didnt even think about the possibility of a defective carto/clearo frying a batt.

Thanks vets, now Im paranoid.

btw, when they arent frying your batteries the V2 visions are awesome clearos!

No, your dealer charges you money to do that for you. It's called "dealer prep" and there are still plenty of brand new cars that go back for warranty work within days of coming off the showroom floor. Maybe some vendors should have an option to charge extra to meter cartos or test batteries. Call it "vendor prep.". But I doubt many people would be willing to pay what it would cost.

That said, you can buy an HH357 atomizer, or some high end stuff that is individually tested. You won't like the price though. That's probably why it's not a common offering.

It's not extremely rare, but it's not very common either. Personally, I've never received a defective or DOA carto or clearo in 2-1/2 years. Most defective cartos or clearos are just DOA anyway. They just don't work. A smaller number of them have shorts. A lot of devices and batteries have circuits to disconnect the power in the case of a short. Some shorts are very brief and don't melt a battery down by continuously discharging like that. It's nothing to be paranoid about. Cigarettes are way more risky. They'll kill you even when they come out of the factory perfect.
