Help please!!!

Hi everyone. just wondering if could get some advice.

I want to order some wire and wick to rebuild Bottom coils for the protank / evods that I have.

I have no idea what thickness or type to go for.

The coils will be used on an Itaste mvp and Itaste VV. I am hoping to make them around the 2ohm mark.

Also is it save to check the ohms of my coils using the mvp or itaste since they both have ohm checkers?

i use 28 or 32 awg kanthal wire to build mine usually 6-8 wraps depending on the wire used and i use organic cotton balls as a wicking material with a small twist of the cotton ball as a flavor wick on top seems to work well for me alot better than stock anyways

hope this helps sure many people will give you more tips and it is fine to check ohms with other devices just dont fire cotton wicks dry or before you check the ohms i find a fine threaded screw or bolt the diameter of what you want your coil to be makes a very nice coil to insert the wick into makes it easier than just by eye.

You could always get the £10 one and try all the bits and pieces.

I've just ordered the £25 one, just waiting on it arriving.

I think Liberty Flights do wick and wire too.

AWG 28: Low Resistance (0.44 ohms/inch)
AWG 30: Low Resistance (0.70 ohms/ inch)
AWG 32: Low - Standard Resistance (1.1 ohms/ inch)
AWG 33: Low - Standard - High Resistance (1.39 ohms/inch)
AWG 34: Standard - High Resistance (1.76 ohms/inch)

Investing in a multimeter would be a wise decision.

Imwould get some 32 and 30 gauge kanthal. I get mine from temco: Resistance Wire

I use cotton balls for wick. I've also used #6 Peaches and Cream white yarn from Walmart. That works well too.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see that you're in the UK. I dunno if Temco ships there. I assume they do, but it would take a while to get to you.

I use a 4/5 wrap of 32 gage A-1 kanthal in my kranger products and it comes out to around 2ohms. I also use 2mm cotton. (Boiled cotton balls for RBA's)

I rebuild my pt/evod heads just like the stock with 32g kanthal and 2mm silica. Then I use 2x 1mm silica for the flavor wicks. You could use the 2mm as the flavor wick if you wanted.
The site doesn't give awg only mm. So the conversion is for the wire is
.15= 34awg
.2= 32awg
.25= 30awg

I think it's better if for no other reason than consistency once you find your preferred wrapping style.
