Hey all. I've been having some issues getting my Lemo Drop rewicked perfectly. This is my first RTA, but I've had it for probably going on almost a year now and still haven't mastered it. I thought I had it nailed down for a while, but after a half tank or so, the flavor starts to diminish, and if I keep vaping (drawing again within 5 minutes or less), I start to get a more noticeable burnt flavor, especially as the tank starts to get low. Covering the airflows and drawing (or "monkeyf___ing", as my friend calls it) temporarily helps.

I didnt think there was anything different in rewicking between Lemo V1 and Lemo Drop, but I could be wrong.

I've been using the bunny-ear method, 5mm coil, ~5 wraps, with about a 5/8" strip of Puff organic cotton. I strip off the compressed outer layers and use a paperclip to gently thin out the cotton a little bit.

novamatt and WeirdWillie said in another thread that I should have to twist my cotton to get it in, so I stepped up to a 6/8" strip and it hasn't been much help. At wits end! Endless dry hits on Lemo please help!

I've been running at 1.3 Ohms on a Sigelei 50W, at 35W/7.0V
I keep the airflow somewhere between all the way open and a 5-6 spins closed.

I usually dont get any juice inside the base, so I dont think Im having a vacuum issue.

I feel like there's something I'm missing, because right after I rewick and the wick is nice and pre-saturated, the flavor is fantastic, and I feel like I should be getting something comparable to that experience throughout the tank.

Thanks for any and all help.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, almost all my juices are 50/50

Cowtown, USA. Where the West begins.
Bubbles from one side only is normal. They always take the lowest pressure route. Try cutting your wick tails flush with the deck, installing the barrel, then stuffing a paperclip wire or small probe into the juice holes before stuffing the tails down into the barrel. When you pull the wires out, you should be able to (barely) see the holes in the deck. Or you could switch to rayon.

I try to make sure the juice channels dont have any wick inside them, I use a paperclip to kinda shuffle the wick around with the barrel on to make sure I have it all out. But I keep hearing differing things about that. Some folks say to make sure the wick is laying on top of the channels and some folks say to make sure they're completely clear.

Make sure they are completely clear but that your tails are touching the deck. I don't do the bunny ears. I cut my tails so they are long enough to touch the deck. Juice them and use a small screwdriver to push them down into place. Make sure the tails are back from the slots. Then screw on my chimney barrel. And do a second check before I assemble the atty to make sure I can see the slots.

Do you push the tails all the way up against the center wall of the deck? Or just filling the whole space around the juice channels?

Sorry for late reply, I wanted to get through what is a typical wick cycle for me before I made any reports.

Keeping the tails completely clear of the channel seemed to help somewhat, the flavor still seems somewhat weak around the second tank. I'm not sure if this is a wicking problem or a dirtying problem. How much juice should I be expecting to be able to go through before I need to rewick?

I don't think you mentioned how much and how fast you are vaping. For me, it takes about 2 hours to lose the taste of a juice. It has nothing to do with the juice, it has to do with my taste buds. They just get tired of the taste. Or, my mind does. I switch RTAs at that point.

Anyway, For the wicking, I do the same as was said. I fluff the wick and push it down and spread it around. Then, I take my smallest/thinnest screwdriver and nudge it away from the juice hole.

I just got my Lemo Drop in VapeMail yesterday. I removed the rayon wick that came in it so I could wash it and get rid of the metal taste and clean the manufacturing machine oil out of it.

I re-wicked it with Koh Gen Do and adjusted the airflow to my liking. If airflow is too free you won't get sufficient wicking to feed juice to the coil. The other possibility is that your wick isn't completely touching the coil all the way around. Any part of the coil that isn't touching juice on the wick is a potential hot spot.

The wick acts as a heat sink for the coil. If there's any air space between the coil and the wick it can glow and ruin the vape quality.
