I learned a TON in the DIY forum - DIY E-Liquid | E-Cigarette Forum read about techniques, figure out which calculator you want to use (I strongly recommend ejuice Me Up - it's free and very easy to use), then dig around for some recipes that sound interesting to you. The rest is trial and error, although if you stick to established recipes and techniques, you probably won't have to pour too much down the drain. :)

Oh, and several vendors offer good DIY Starter Kits. I read a lot of comments about "figure out what you need and buy the items separately" but the only thing that came in my starter kit that I ended up not using was the gloves and goggles, and if I had bought the stuff I did use separately, I wouldn't have saved a dime. But you'll still need recipes first - you'll want to order your flavors when you order the starter kit.

Ya I didn't mean to post it there I thought I had changed pages but I guess I didnt but thanks everyone for the help

you also can just buy a few flavors to try out befor eyou get into the whole 'recipe' type deal, like you can just buy a peach flavoring, a strawberry flavoring, blueberry flavoring etc...

you can just do a basic simple mix of nicotine liquid with just peach flavoring, and you know it will taste like peach. Then do one with just strawberry etc, then try to mix the strawberry and peacch to get a strawberry peach flavor. If you are just starting off, experimenting is the easier way to go, without ending up with tons of flavorings that you might not use because you dislike the flavor. Id suggest just ordering a bunch of 10ml bottles of fruit flavors then experimenting with mixes after you try them all by themselves. Flavorings start to get expensive when you buy the 30ml+ bottles, and if you buy those big bottles to start off you may not like it and just left with tons of flavorings that will get no use.

Sweet strawberry by Capella mixed with some vanilla swirl by tfa.

Or a blackberry raspberry strawberry combo. Little bit of sweetener. Couple drops of citric acid.

So far for me of the fruits I have tried (more a dessert vape guy). I have really liked:

Sweet strawberry - cap
Juicy mango - cap (super strong)
Lychee - tfa
Honey dew melon - tfa
Golden pineapple - cap (super strong)
Blackberry - cap

Whipped cream and vanilla really help round out the flavor

Good luck and have fun

It can be as easy or as difficult (cheap or expensive) as you want it to be.
If you have a measuring cup in the house, a childs medicine dropper, a couple different sized mason jars,
a few empty juice bottles, all that's left to blow cash on is the flavours, the nic base and 500ml of pg and/or vg.

The flavourings can be hit and miss. Get 10ml sizes to start, make small 5ml trial batches.
Trial single flavours to get the proportions to your liking. Once you get, say for example, the strawberry proportions right and say you have the banana proportions right, begin mixing the 2 together keeping track
of the proportions of the 2.

Grab a few of the fruits you like, a vanilla custard(or vanilla something) as it may sweeten and take the edge off the fruits if needed. Get a weak, 48mg/ml nic. base in the beginning, this way no one will get hurt too badly if there is a mix-up somewhere. Nic in the trial batches is not needed imo. it just complicates things.

Don't toss any of your "failed" trials, once you have the trial tweaked to your liking and make a larger 30/60/100ml batch, the "failed" trial should mix in nicely without incident.

Of course I didn't do all these things when I started, take what you want, leave the rest.
Advice is cheap, free advice can be costly. DIY does NOT have to be expensive.

Any recipe you find online may not be to your liking, you may get lucky however and find some recipes that work well for you. (Cutting out a lot of trial and error).

HAVE FUN with it, make it your own, Cheers.
