Just made my first batch of e-liquid using wizard labs stuff. I diluted down from 60mg/ml to around 18 and the flavoring are all lorAnns or TPA. So my issue is that it kinda seems like all my juices taste very similar..like this very semi sweet taste..its getting kinda old...The only one that is decent is peach. I was looking forward to apple tasting good, but its that same semi sweet taste. All bases were flavored to around 6-7%. Also it seems like my batch is very thin..like watery, even though this is a70-30 pg/vg batch...What is going on with this. Any tips or advice would be very appreciated.

I'm by no means a vet of DIY, but I've been doing it for a few weeks now and if there's one thing I've learned, it's this: Some flavors are simply stronger or weaker than others. If everything is tasting pretty weak, try increasing the percentage that you're putting in it. Personally, I tend to make a tiny little 1 - 2 ml test batch and I start most things out at 10% and go from there. Some flavors (e.g. Lorann's Wintergreen) are very strong and should be done at no more than, say, 5% for a test batch. Everyone's tastes are different, so play around with it and find your sweet spot.

Adding some VG will increase the viscosity, yes. But it will also dilute everything else. When you make a small batch, try making it 60/40 pg/vg if viscosity is a concern. Some folks even vape straight VG. It's all up to you and how you like it. Keep in mind that lots of VG will mute the flavor a tad and it's reported that it can kill a carto faster. I've not had this problem myself, but others have. Don't be afraid to experiment with it a little. Personally, I like 50/50.

Glock Rock, good advise for a newb! Let me just add that most Diy'ers are mixing in flavors at about 10-20% so I would guess you just need more flavor. I use 100% VG so my flavors are mixed in at 24%. PG increases flavor perception and VG increased visible vapor. If you add just VG to your existing mix you will be diluting your flavor and nicotine. Just remember everytime you add something you dilute another component of your mixture. In the beginning I would always suggest you do small 3-5ml test batches without nicotine, that way if you don't like it and can't fix it, just dump it.

IMO, there's nothing inherently wrong with a thin juice. If you are a dripper and it leaks everywhere, yes, that stinks, but otherwise if you are getting enough vapor to satisfy you then I wouldn't bother adding VG to thicken it.

And as far as adding more flavor... yes, generally flavoring is added to around 20% whether the flavor is alcohol or PG-based. Don't go crazy though; the majority of us have chosen vaping for the perceived harm reduction benefits over smoking and the flavorings are the big quesiton mark in this believe. While PG/VG/and nic all have had inhalation safety tests, nearly no flavorings have and some have already proven to be very dangerous above certain concentrations.

Just be cautious about adding a ton is all I want to get across. Ramp it up slowly and STOP when you have enough.
