It may sound difficult, but my advice is to truly seek out a vendor, vaping buddy, or anyone you can find who will let you test out their set-up. If it doesn't taste right to you, don't buy it. If it does, ask where you can get the exact set-up - if no where can provide the exact ohm's, heads, juice, tank, and battery (the battery brand is less important) as the set-up you enjoyed, then don't buy it. The popular vendor phrase, "Well, we don't have this exact set-up that we're letting you taste juice in, but we do have this, but the difference in ohm's and such shouldn't make any difference whatsoever." always leads to so much trouble.
Actually, if you find someone that has a set-up you enjoy, throw whatever amount of money you can at them to buy their device right then and there. Other than that, just going out and buying something, no matter what it is, had lead me to so much trouble it's unbelievable. And no one will believe your device doesn't work unless they vape it, you'll be shifting through posts and posts of "just turn your battery down from 3.3. to 3.12938372 volts, ya newbie." and nothing will ever get solved. Or you may be lucky and whatever you buy, no matter how crappy of a brand, may work great. It's about a 50/50 chance if you really look at everything on this forum, no matter what you buy.
I mean, when you still see Provari problems left and right, you know that the production standards in the vaping industry aren't exactly top notch. It's truly a hit or miss in our times. The people who get lucky stick with it, and the people who don't just don't stick with it and are even a greater number than the problems you see on this forum. My main thing: try before you buy, no matter what it takes. No matter how friendly a vendor first seems, they probably won't do any sort of return, and they probably won't help you after they hear any negative situations. You can even call any random vendor up on the phone saying you're having trouble with anything, and right away, once they realize they're not going to make a sale, they get crabby.
And with Kanger, I've never had any luck with them. I don't feel as though their devices wick well, and all the stainless steel may be giving horrible flavors to the juice I put in them. The draw seems extremely airy, and overall, the PTII just didn't feel like I had a working device in my mouth when I went to vape it - and it did just that, it didn't work right. Sometimes you can just pick up a device in your hand and get a sense wether there's just something off about it and why it may not perform. The Protank II did fool me with all the fancy packaging and sleek design, but vaping it was like going to the gas station and picking out the worst chinese e-cig you can find - actually, it was worse. Burnt flavors galore.
