Hey guys,

I think I just ruined five new attys! I followed the advice of another member and soaked them in white vinegar. Now none of them work. A couple are still glowing but not producing vapor, the others not glowing, and just producing a hissing noise. DAMN!!!!! Any hope that they can be recovered?

I just received my Tornado today. Totally Awesome! They recommend just blowing out the attys with a can of high pressured air. Wish it had come sooner, and I would have avoided this.

It really does take some time for them to come back once they`ve been soaked in whatever, just be patient and they will start to vape again. I went through 6 510 atties in my first month after cleaning them and looking back, I threw out 6 good atomizers. Just put 1 drop on the atty with a topped off cart and take multiple slooooooow drags (6 seconds or more) they will come back.

did you let them totally, totally dry out before trying to use 'em? (and rinse them out etc..)? BTW: for future reference, how long have you had those atty's I've read recommendations (a Lot) that you don't do drastic cleansing unless they stop working enough to really hamper your vaping experience. I've been using the same one for about three weeks and just blow it out once in a while- still vapes like a charm.

Rosa, they had been sitting on a towel for several hours before I tried to use them. I don't know. Maybe there is still some dampness in there. I was told today to get some of that pressurized canned air, and blow them out with that, and then, for future reference, clean them that way. (this was info supplied by the folks at Totally Wicked).

I have been using 4 atomizers since December, I use each one 100% for it's own flavor as recommended by a friend. I have never had a single problem. He told me that switching between flavors gums up the wicking material and causes false taste between liquid changes. I am over 90 days in on 4 atty's and they still blow smoke rings and produce enough cloud that my co-workers still turn from 100 feet away.

I never clean my atties. I never soak them overnight. I dry burn very rarely, and only if it's really flooded. All I do is blow them out occasionally. I have only had 2 die. One was a dud when I got it and is being replaced and the other was the only one that I ever cleaned.

These things burn at a high enough temperature that I am not concerned about them from a health standpoint and I believe should only be cleaned/messed with if they have issues. From my experience the ones that have issues have those issues happen usually just after cleaning or from misuse (using too high a voltage/flooding or running them dry).

Just my experience thus far. YMMV.

yeah, that's about what I hear around here. I don't clean mine either...just blow it out once in a while if it seems sad or if my PV gets leaky.

If they are glowing, they are just fine.

You probably didn't let them dry long enough.
I think that is the single most common mistake when cleaning atomizers.

Rinse them out in hot water to get the vinegar out.
Them dry burn them (see below) until they work like new.

And from now on, always use this method to clean your atomizers.
There will never be a better method, ever, as this is the best possible.

Yes, if they are glowing and hissing that means they are working. personally, I would blow them out real good, and rinse them with water. Blow them out again. From there, use the "dry burn" method where you evaporate the remaining water, and slowly drop liquid into it until it doesn't taste burnt anymore.

This has always worked for me, but keep in mind atomizer cleaning methods are very subjective... some things that work well for some may not work well for others. Everyone will give you a different answer. Hope that helps :D

hissing with no glow means that they are still wet from what you soaked them in.. glowing with no vapor means that they just do not have any juice in them..

add a few drips of liquid to the attys press the button for a second or two.. add a few more then take a drag off it.. if no vapor then take the atty off and blow it out then try again.. right after cleaning i usually flood mine out so there is no nasty taste.

a lot of ppl really seem to over clean attys on here.. i will use them until i go through 15mls then my cleaning is more just to get the flavor out since i end up changing flavors
