Last night, i soaked ALL of my attys in water and mostly vodka like i thought i was supposed to do. Then i let dry, blew them out. and used them today. They now taste AWFUL...with a musty burnt taste. I cant even taste my liquid flavors in them.

This is the first time i have done this because normally i just blow them out, but i wanted to get ALL of the flavors out of them!

Now i regret soaking all of my 20 attys...did i ruin them?!

How do i get that taste out?? How do i make them work like they did before?!

PLEASE HELP!

Do a dry burn on them pounds probably still have gunk on them and it soaked up the alcahol but didn't completely dissolve

So put an Atty on your pv
hold the button unill you see a low orange glow.
Then for 30sec rapidly press the Pv button but don't let the coil get bright orange

After that rinse it out and dry it out

I have never had a problem with a 510 atty cleaning. You can boil them; soak them in alcohol for a few hours and then rinse; but what seems to work best for me is to use a sonic cleaner (from Harbor Frieght) with vodka as the soaking liquid.

Since I only use my 510 for testing out new liquids, it is important that I get all the taste of the old liquid out before trying a new one. And the sonic cleaner does the best in removing the taste.

I don't see how you ruined them by soaking them like we all do. If you taste a burnt taste it is probably the wick.. I usually take the wick (not the bridge) out and that takes care of the burnt taste. From what I've seen the only thing that can give you a burnt taste IS the wick. Let us know how it turns out. You can do a youtube search on how to remove the wick.. it's simple and quick..
