Hey guys, still really new here, just have a question.

I'm not looking for one of those basic atty cleaning tutorials that are ALL OVER the place on the internet, I want to ask about cleaning an atty that has specifically been used for Tobacco Extract liquid, since this liquid will really leave a burnt cigarette, ashtray-type taste in an atty, especially if you are vaping the liquid at high temp/wattage...

Now, I only vape this stuff at really low temperatures, in fact the only atty I can vape it on is this really old atty that has sat around with e-liquid in it for about 4-5 months, and really under-performs... This under-performance is the only thing that saves the juice from getting burned, although I think it will still burn slowly over time, but luckily it's not enough to make the entire vaping experience taste like ash tray. However, I have a couple attys and LR attys that I used for this liquid before realizing that it would burn and ruin the atty. It's been a lot harder to clean that regular e-liquid gunk on your atty...

Does anyone know how to clean this specific type of burnt residue? Thank you so much!

Also it would be nice if anyone has found a method of vaping this extract-type liquid that still provides a good throat hit.

PGA Pure Grain Alcohol (AKA Everclear or Golden Grain). Blow excess nicquid out. Soak the atty in PGA. Blow the atty out. Attach atty to PV @ 3.7v. Rapid-fire dry-burn (quick presses of the button) while blowing into atty (do this for 10-20secs). Remove from PV. Re-soak in PGA. Blow out PGA. Allow to air dry. Prime atty with niquid. Enjoy.

I use a 2fl.oz syringe and thread the atty into the plastic tip of the syringe. I then immerse the atty into PGA and draw/inject the PGA back and forth repeatedly, also. When I get done, with the atty still threaded into the syringe, I draw air into the atty a couple times to force air in and out. Not everyone has a 2fl.oz syringe laying around tho.

There have been good reviews of people using an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner to clean atties and cartos, as well

These are a couple methods.

*Use caution when dealing with PGA, as it has a low flash-point. The vapors can ignite if near sparks or open flame.

Are you vaping straight tobacco extract?
It's meant to be thinned before use, even as a flavoring.

No, I'm vaping already-mixed liquid that contains tobacco extract. I found out that cartos work well with these liquids; I guess the filler material kind of filters the suspended solids in the juice. However, if I use an atty, the liquid tastes like burnt tobacco very quickly, and I can't seem to get it out with water or alcohol. I never liked the dry burn, because I find that doing a dry burn just makes the atty taste like 'burnt atomizer'. I don't know, I might experiment since the atty is useless anyway, unless I get this bad taste out. It's very similar to the smell of an analog, but not the good kind. More like the half-burnt-cigarette-that-you-saved-because-you're-running-low kind.

Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom regarding cleaning. As I said above, I don't have good luck with the dry burn, but it might be my only option. I have tried blasting alcohol, and hot water, through the atty with a syringe, but the burnt tobacco taste still remains. Oh, well, might try dry burning again. Thanks again!
