HELP! Vivi Nova Air Flow Problems

Last week I got a new Provari and I bought two ViVi Nova tank systems to use with it. Both tanks worked great right out of the box, but then I started getting some dry hits. I read on one of the threats a suggestion to trim about a sixteenth of an inch off the rubber cap thing that goes over the coil of the atty and this seems to help the e-liquid get to the atty better.

Now, all of a sudden I'm having air flow problems. I put the tank on the provari, sucked, and it was like totally blocked. When the tank is off the provari, the the draw is fine. I tried a different atty and that didn't help the air flow problem. I but the other tank on and that worked fine. As I tightened the problem tank down (and I don't tighten much), the air flow stops. At one point the air flow came back and then got real tight again. Now, the tank that had no issues is having air flow problems. I'm at a loss on what the cause is. If anyone has any ideas that can help me, I would be forever in your debt! Thanx.

You could always make the vent holes just a tad bigger, I did this to all my version 2.0 and they have a much better smoother draw and the taste is stronger than before. I read that someone did this on another thread so I tried it. I was nervous as I had never done this before and didnt want to "hurt" the vivi, but I just got a small sharp pair of scissors and put the small tip and turned it around a few times and sort of scraped the holes larger. If you feel adventurous you might give it a go.

I have 3 so far, the ones with the short wicks not sure which version it is, but I love em.

Some say to back the tank off a quarter turn from tight so that the airholes aren't blocked. While I found that this does work I really didn't like having my tank wobbling around. As a solution I snapped a plastic breadclip onto the base of the nova (it fits the 510 post nicely) then screwed that down to just snug. It works! With a little trimming you can't see it. Also the airflow can be adjusted by trimming out the space where the two points come together. Hope you get it worked out.

These have promise, but after two weeks only vaping them, they are quickly showing a lot of weakness. I have experienced inconsistent wicking with different juices of the same PG/VG blend, 70/30. The heads are simply way too sensitive to voltage, so much so that it is absurd and I don't know about other people, but I get more juice in my mouth with the Vivi Nova, then I ever did with cartos.

IMO, the only areas they beat a well performing carto in are leaking. I have experienced, none. And of course capacity.

i am having the same issues...wanted so bad to love my vivi nova...i only get airflow on my provari mini if i loosen it a bit..again a bit of a wobbly connection. for me juice in the mouth was solved by not filling the tank that high...going to try getting a 510 adapter to see if that solves the problem...not giving up yet..anyone have a link to where to get the adapter??

I got one that just started doing this. It was fine previously. I'm not sure what the problem is but I've cleaned it out and made sure the holes aren't being blocked. I tried a dry burn on the coil and it wouldn't turn red. It ended up burning so I think the head was just dead or dying. I'm not sure though.

The airflow problems of the vivi nova occur only on those with the air holes in the pin of the vivi nova. There are newer types of vivi novas that have the air holes above the pin, in the base of the vivi. These are known as the vivi nova V5 and above. I live in the Czech Republic so I have posted a link to a local eshop that carries them here: Hledání | Nadines.cz - elektronické cigarety, e-liquidy, dopl

Thank you for the feedback. I have the new V2.5 version and the air hole is above the threads. I just don't understand why sometime's it works, other times I have a hard draw, and still other times I can't get the vivi nova to draw at all. I just ordered a 510 to 510 sealed adapter. Hope this helps. Thanks again.

I can almost guarantee it's not the vivi nova - it's your device. (unless you bought a knock-off vivi - or it's a real one & its defective)

I experienced the same thing on my provari & my eGo C-Twist - I then bought an eVic - problem gone.

The vivi nova I think, is the best clearomizer / tank in general for the eVic. I've tried so many different cartos and clearos, and RDA's - the Vivi Nova 1.8ohm Head + eVic is the best daily personal vape setup i have.

I love my GGTS + Ithaka/nimbus! I mean for mech mods I feel I have one of the best setups you can buy - and it sure costs a pretty penny. But while working at my cubicle like I am at the moment, my $100.00 eVic + $15.00 Vivi Nova does the trick just fine. I'm not swayed by price. I like having a $100.00 daily personal vaporizer for driving and at work, and then a really nice mech mod at my house when I'm relaxing, and having fun rebuilding coils.

Too add to my previous comment - Do any of your friends have Vapes?

Try it on their devices - Try and rule out the tank.

That's what I did... I tried mine on my buddies lavatube, and vaped on it for an hour - no dry hits.

That's when I went out and bought an eVic. I brought my vivi nova that was causing dry hits into the vape store, the guy was nice enough to pull the evic out of the box and let me try it before i bought it.

Like I said, my problem is gone - and I went from hating the vivi nova to absolutely loving the crap out of it.... (for a clearomizer).
