My favorite home devices are my two VV Grand, but one of them failing on me. The one I'm having issues with is nearly two years old. It just isn't firing like it used to anymore. The newer VV Grand is fine. I can take charged batteries, slip them into the Older VV and it barely fires, then place the same batteries in the newer VV and it fires off like it should. I Know; check the coil, reduce resistance, adjust thumb wheel. My Baby Is withering on me !
Anyone else have this issue with the VV Grand ? Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks. Papaw

As long as the chip is good I can fix it . I am out of vv chips worst case I can convert it to a mec

Hi Rob,

I've got a VVGrand also and tho' it's working I am wondering if you might convert it to a Mec and the approximate cost? Also, would I be able to use a kick on top of the 18650?

Thanks.

Almost forgot. Also, can it be LP-ed at the same time, hopefully?

This thread reminded me that my original Silver Vein VVG died soon after I got it (about 3 months ago) AND WORSE that I have not taken the time to troubleshoot it, try to isolate the problem. Me bad, very bad, but with 8 other Reos it has not been a pressing issue. Do know if the chip is bad its a goner... but still hoping it's something else so I can keep it a working piece of Reo history.

I'm thinking I'll wait to send mine in so it can have the new 510 Flush connector thing installed when it comes out in a few weeks from now? Also will want to turn my VV into an LP.

Ach, patience is a virtue,........I guess.

I'm also waiting to send another one of my VV grands in for mech conversion. Maybe Rob will/can give us an ETA on the new 510s....:)

A kick (or kick 2 which is better still - more power etc) is a chip/circuit that sits on top of a battery and regulates the output.

It turns a mechanical device into a regulated one basically.

And means that Rob doesn't have to replace the electronics :)
