Help w/ my mod, weak vapor

I made a mod out of a rayovac flashlight. I'm happy with the way it looks (unfortunately I cannot upload pictures). It has a RCA to 501 adaptor.

At first, I thought the thing was not working at all, but noticed if I keep the button held down for 10+ seconds, it will produce some vapor. If I keep holding the button down, I can take a weak drag every 8-12 seconds (get a small amount of vapor).

I have checked the voltage at the connector and it is getting around 4.2 volts. I expected to get better vapor than I get off my generic 510 battery.

Does anybody have any idea why it would not work?

It uses 3 aaa rayovac lithium batteries in series - could this be limiting the current? What battery could I use to replace the 3aaa if this is the problem?

4.2 volts, but how many amps? (Not sure how to check for that myself)

Correction: the batteries are alkaline

No idea on the amps. That is kinda where my thoughts are.

Has anybody else made a 3xaaa mod that worked with generic aaa batteries in series?

From my experience alkaline's just don't have the needed current/power to adequately work-I have made a couple mods that use 3 Nickle Metal Hydride in series and it works fairly well. ( I used AA batts though, you probably won't get much life out of the AAA's)

Guitarslinger may have solved your problem. Alkalines do not provide enough current to properly run an atomizer. You really need to find li-ion rechargeables that can be used in your mod to provide enough power to your atomziers to produce the great vapor you seek. Don't skimp on the power source as this is too important to the vaping system.

You can pop the but off of the end cap, and two cr123a batteries will fit inside. Also the 18650 battery will also fit inside if you take off that ruber seal.
