Help-What a Mess!!!!!

Some of you may know a little about my dilemma from my last post. I will try and keep this as short as possible.

First of all, my mom saw a TV ad for American Blue Tip ecigs. She is desperate to quit analogs since she is 73 and has COPD/Emphysema. I knew nothing about this until she got the kit.
1. There is no nicotine in the cartridges
2. She got a tiny amount of vapor the first time she tried it and now no vapor at all.
3. She paid $211.00 for this kit thinking if she could use it to get off analogs it would be worth it.
She has been a heavy smoker for 60 years and I feel that she will be more successful with nicotine carts. The cigs supposedly have a 30 day money back guarantee.
I have these and will call in the morning to try and return. I looked at the paperwork they came with and it says 30 day guarantee against mfg defects. And I noticed that it said her next shipment will arrive in 2 weeks. I really think that she may have gotten screwed royally with these but am going to try my best to get return authorization in the morning. Anyone here had an issue like this?

Meanwhile back at the farm I did my research on ecigs and from the review sites it looked like Safe Cig was top rated for vapor, battery life and ease of use so I placed an order with them not only for mom but also for myself.
Next I found this forum and found that I paid wayyyy too much yet again.
Safe Cig was supposed to ship on Tuesday morning so I sent an email to cancel and hopefully that will go OK.

Good news is that I did go to Vaporkings and order the KR808D-1 starter kit and a few extra carts thanks to info that I gained here for much less money. Does anyone know how the battery life and cart life is for the KR808D-1? Not sure if I ordered enough carts. Also I need a carrying case for the KR808D-1. Anyone know where I may find one? One thing that I did not like is that they did not offer menthol cartomizers. I am a Salem Gold smoker so not sure if I will like the Kamel or 555 flavors? They only had 2 kits in stock and I actually needed 3 but will make due.

Last question. If things go very bad when I call American Blue Tip and my mom gets stuck with the kit, will other cartomizers fit her battery?

If you made it this far thanks and I will appreciate any input that I can get. My head is swimming with all of this!

I'm sure you'll like the Kr808. It's very easy to use.

I at least 6 hours out of the batteries typically. And I get at least 4 out of the cartomizers.

Thanks folks. That link is what actually made me buy the KR808D-1 kit.
Anyone tried the 555 or Kamel flavor carts? I figure that the menthol carts I ordered from Safe Cigs probably wouldn't taste menthol anyway.
4 hours per cart? Is that heavy vaping?
The ones that I originally ordered had lots of folks saying that 1 cart was equivalent to 2 packs of analogs. Something about a male adapter used that enabled them to get more liquid in.
I am now wondering if I should order more than 2 5pk carts each if they only last 4 hours. Maybe that is why the price of the carts are less?
Don't really want to deal with liquid just yet until I get it down pat. Probably should keep my mom with the cartos.

Don't feel too bad and don't give up. A lot of us newbies got screwed on first purchase. the only good thing is that it got us to check into it more and find the good ones. Ego for me after doing Blu, then 510 and now ego, all within 3 weeks.
Just wish one of the legit companies would advertise instead of the crap ones.

You are right about that! My mom said the same thing. She wondered why none of the good ones advertise at all. She does not have or use the internet so she would have no way of knowing at all. The only thing that I can figure is the same reason that analogs are not advertised on TV

Yup, 4 hours of heavy vaping. They've lasted me as long as 8 hours with more moderate vaping.

A lot of e-cig companies make completely unrealistic claims. There is no e-cig that will hold 40 cigarettes worth of liquid. None. The adapter makes no difference. All that matters is how much liquid the filler holds.

Cartomizers do cost more than carts, but that's because they're a cart and an atomizer in one. On 3-piece models, with separate atomizers, you do have to replace the atomizers sometimes too. And atomizers can get very expensive.

Re-filling cartomizers can actually be done really easily. See this vid:

Welcome to ECF. The deal your mom got -- were you able to cancel out that autoship? If not, close down your mom's bank acct and open her a new one. That's a good thing to do every once in a while anyway. It doesn't matter that she got screwed once for lack of internet knowledge, but don't let her keep getting screwed. That wouldn't be good. GL on that.

Don't go ordering all sorts of stuff yet. Pleeeeeeez listen to me and save your money. Most of us started out w/the KR808 or the Joye510. That's the necessary first step for the learning curve. You know, basic maintenance, atty resurrection, cart mod, etc. But once you get these down, you will be upgrading very soon to an eGo for your mom and a Chuck for yourself (probably), so don't go spending all your hard-earned cash in one place. You and your mom can fill several cartos in one sitting or consider the mega cartridges for her.

The expensive part is finding the juices you like. Just because you like peaches doesn't mean you'll like peach eJuice. LOL, this is the fun part! Let us know how this works out, and read all the stuff that piques your interest in the ECF Library. Keep coming back here w/your Qs, as this is one huge, awesome family. Congrats on the vaping decision.

Said I could return but must wait at least 30 days for a refund by check. I don't know if I trust that. The order from Vaporkings was so much less expensive. I am so fed up that I am almost ready to give up before I start!

Hold on to those emails, and get a tracking number on the package when you send back the Safe Cigs kit.

If they don't refund you, be ready to dispute the charge.

Lots of gurus on the site got burned a couple times before they finally got on the right track. There's so many bad businesses out there.

I almost got trapped in one of those "free trial" scams. Thank goodness I found this place before I opened that can of worms.

You will like the KR808. I started with that and still carry one with me but have also moved up to an eGo. I could get 8 hours out of my batteries. I also fill my carts before I go to bed so they can sit for awhile. Its to bad about your mother and that is a lot of money for her to have to spend for nothing. Keep fighting and don't back down. These kind of companies like you to back down and they think if they make it difficult you will. Hell you could actually file a case against them because of your mothers age because in most states she would be considered a volnerable (sp?) adult. Threaten the crap out of them and you will see action.

Did she order using a credit card or bank account?
If ordered by credit card, first contact the company you ordered from demanding a refund. If no satisfaction, call the credit card issuer directly. I'd bet that they could fix it for you!!

Congratulations on not being one of those people who run screaming and get frustrated by a bad initial experience with some crooked company. You stayed with it, did some research and found out for yourself that there ARE suitable products out there for you.

E-cigs get you your fix and let you breathe. They're amazing.
Emphysema isn't fun, at all, it actually won't allow you to exhale.. My grandfather died of it. Every cigarette makes it worse, too, so stay with this and get her off of them ASAP

Yep, good on you for not letting such a lousy experience deter you. There's a lot of great companies out there that offer real old fashioned service and by coming here you're bound to find them all.

Like others have said dispute the charge of the blue tips, that's a ridiculous amount and if they refuse a refund just cancel the card/account and open a new one, that buggers them lol.

Believe it or not American Blue Tip has no problem at all returning my moms ecigs and giving her a refund. They were actually quite pleasant. They told me to tap the cart (with stopper still on ) on the table to get the juice down to atomizer. It worked! That thing is smoking like crazy! It did make my throat sore though but nothing I could not handle. I am still returning it since they were too high and have no nicotine. 1 problem solved.

I called Vapor Kings this morning because I wanted to find out when they would get more KR808 starter kits in and when I could get menthol carts. He said that they are discontinuing them and stocking 510s. He said the 510 carts will work with an adapter but no wonder why I am having such a hard time finding another starter in stock anywhere.

The Safe Cig guy still says after I return the product it will take 30 plus days to get refund by check. I really wanted back on my credit card but guess I should take what I can get.

I am soooo ready to get my kit and hope that it will come quickly. My moms breathing has sounded so bad lately and I have high hopes that this will also work for her.

First I want to say Welcome to the ECF. Also, I am glad you are not giving up. I wasted a lot of money before I actually started participating here.

I was a menthol smoker and it is hard to find something you like right away, or at least it was for me. Taste is so subjective and ecigs just don't taste like a cigarette, no matter what flavor you get. Eventualy, if you don't give up, you will most likely favor the taste of vapor over cigs . That seems to be what happens alot.
I was on a quest for a Newport taste. I ordered several flavors and never found it. Meanwhile I managed to not have a cig for a few days. When I did have one, I thought why do I want to taste THAT LOL. Then I had a stressful day and needed a cig. I didn't want to smoke one so, I went looking again for the perfect menthol substitute. I feel like I have found "my" substitute for menthol. My personal favorite tastes like a cig to me, it is Tasty Vapor, tobacco menthol. But they do not offer them already in cartos, you may want to try it once you start refilling your own.

Since you ordered a kr 808 and will be using cartomisers. You could take a look at vapor4life, they have 2 or 3 different Menthol sample packs. You will get 5 cartomisers in 5 flavors to try, all different menthol flavors. I think that might be an easy and quick way to start finding the right flavor. They also sell the started kits as well and have very good customer service.
