Hello all! I have been vaping for 4 months. I am going thru attys like crazy. I have a joye ego. I have bought atty's from cignot and vaporsect. They only last about a week if that. I am a pretty moderate vaper. Any suggestions on where to get better atty's and what I need to do to make them last at least a month or so. I love vaping! It is great and a necessity as I can't smoke around my mom she has lung cancer.

Have you been cleaning the attys? It's really easy you just blow them out rinse them with hot water and soak them in isopropyl alcohol for a while. Take the out of the alcohol and let them dry for about a day. I have some attys from cignot and they are still going strong for about a month. I also find that cycling through different attys throughout the week gives them a longer life span too.

Hey - I haven't vaped for as long as you have, but I'm still on my original sets - I use for 5 - 7 days, then wash them (7 - 10 hour soak in alcohol, then boiling water rinse, then dry overnight) and rotate to my next one. **Knocks on wood** seems to be working for me. Also, there is an incredible post on resurrecting attys on this forum, search for it; you may be able to reclaim some of the "dead" ones!

wow i dont know how you guys can be so patient to let your atty's sit over night. even for hours. i just put um in a small cannister with about 2cc of alcohol, and shake it up for about 30 seconds. then blow the bejeezus out of em into a napkin. when i think its pretty dry, i just let it sit for another minute (doesnt take long for alcohol to evaporate). then blow one more time. attach atty to battery, dry fire till i see red. repeat the dry fire maybe two more times. drip a few drops in to prime, let soak in for a minute. then take some puffs without inhaling (like puffing on a cig to light it up). couple more drops and im back in business. never takes more than 5 minutes.

A word of caution about that. You could still potentially have some alcohol in your atty. Which could start on fire. Just be careful it would suck to lose your eyebrows.

I manage it by having 5 atomizers that I switch out. Usually when I am down to my last 2 clean ones I clean the other three and let them sit for a few days until I need them. This keeps me in lovely clean attys all the time.

the 12th of this month will be a month that i've been vaping exclusively & I'm still only using one of the attys that came with my 510 starter kit. Before i goto bed all i do is blow out the atty from both ends over a piece of paper towel to catch the excess liquid & then i put that atty in a small tupperware container so it doesn't dry out. Try it !! :2cool:

Oh one other thing. When I get the attomizer it has all this stuff in the bridge. Is that supposed to be there?

Yes, that's the wick and it is suppose to be there.

How long are you holding down the button when you vape and are you letting the atty cool down between vapes? Atty's don't like to be overheated for too long.

I've read that dryness can kill an atty prematurely. Make sure you prime the attys after cleaning or when changing carts if they've gone dry. It takes at least 4 drops on the atty to prime them.

I don't know if the Ego is the same way but the 510 has a right way and a wrong way to push the cart on. If you push it on the wrong way, the plastic touches and melts and makes the atty stop working.

Also, if you have a automatic battery, it could be firing inside your pocket or your purse. Then the atty wouldn't work because it overheated and popped. Carry them separated if that's a possibility. Just unscrew the atty and carry it that way.

I am finding I'm going to need probably another kit, and definitely some more attys/carts and cartos. If don't, I'm finding I need to puff a bit more than the average bear (albeit not constantly, but close!)... I'm not having trouble with batteries (thank you eGo) going dead even smoking from all 5 (4 eGo and one eGo Pass-Thru) today, but to take a couple out of circulation for cleaning... I'm gonna need to get another order placed pronto ;o)

It is flooded by too much liquid getting onto and into the atty. This happens when you overfill a cartridge, or if you are dripper and you drip to much on an atty at once. Generally speaking if an atty is flooded you can clean it and it will work fine again (at least from my experience)

Or you can just blow through the mouth end, and that might unflood it. Just worked for me a minute ago.

An atomizer just soaked in water, flushed out using a syringe/rubber cone, and then soaked in alcohol will dry quickly if set in front of a fan for a while. I cleaned four atties earlier today, soaked them for a minute, flushed them out using the Walmart syringe and rubber cone (as described in my blog), flushed out the excess water, then soaked in isopropyl alcohol for a while, and then set in front of a fan. The whole process lasted about 4 hours, but I was busy during that time and didn't worry about letting them soak for hours or dry for hours. Alcohol evaporates quickly, and an hour or two in front of the fan worked fine.

I agree with deback. I've tried various cleaning methods and they don't seem to work for me (who knows, maybe I've done something wrong). I've even lost two atomizers in one week during the process with the rubbing alcohol version of cleaning. If I sense too much liquid getting on the atty and potentially flooding it, I blow through the LED end of my ciggy with the cartridge off and that burns off a lot of goo. I then rewet the atty with 1-2 drops of juice. I also drain my attys once a week on a paper towel for a few hours and rewet with 1-2 drops of juice. Other than that, I am not rinsing or bathing them in anything anymore.
