I had the exact same experience with an eGo T system. Burnt nasty, change atty, ok it's nice for 15 minutes then it's burnt. Bleh. I had only purchased one extra atty besides the 2 with the kit I got so I just decided to scrap it. In the interest of wondering WTF had happened I disassembled one. The wick was burnt to a crisp. I didn't chain vape, I didn't use a high VG mix... it just clearly didn't wick properly and thus burnt instead of oh, you know, doing what it was supposed to. Probably what has happened to yours too. You can replace the wicks yourself but I have not actually tried it, I wanted something that was more user friendly than that. I have seen the tutorial thread on how to do that but I have no idea what it's called- if you want to try it maybe someone can dig it up for ya.

For awhile I just stuck 510 cartos on that eGo T battery- which is cheap, holds around the same amount as a tank and soooooo much less annoyance. Better flavor too.

Then I broke down and got a Reo and it's amazing for the mostly VG I have to vape now (can't really do cartos with just VG).

Yeah, you're right, the flavor is accounted for, in the final nic percentage, in mixing DIY juice. There's this whole awesome spreadsheet that calculates everything for you- also available in iPhone app form. I use the app. There's a whole forum on DIY around here, very helpful, lots of info on flavors etc. I think it's not the most... easy/beginner activity... but I ended up doing it because I wanted to get the most PG out of the mix possible and the only way is, you guessed it, DIY. (At least to get the flavors I prefer, anyway.)

ETA: this is the link to the forum with all the recipes and the calculator spreadsheet (scubabatdan is the author of it). E-liquid Recipes

Hey Mum, Good on ya fur the quit. I can sorta relate, smoked tobacco for 52 years, my heart attack was 25 years ago. I'd say I'm a pro at paranoia. Everybody else's advice is great. . .do any or all of it you choose. Myself, I did what I did because Chicken Little went running by my house shouting, "your government might shut down vaping". I've 2 gallons of VG, more than a gross of CE2 XL steel and clear carto's, (that I'll stick in a syringe tube mod), several 180 mL bottles of hunnert proof nic, same for my Cinnamon flavoring, and order my Big Batts by the half dozen. Looking to order 20 Clear Shorty drip tips as I type this. I don't know what to tell ya Mum, I have no experience with your PV. I now vape ProVari, and never have any trouble getting 50/50 or > % VG juice to wick. My, (natural), motion of tipping my Pro to the horizontal position when taking a hit, automatically feeds juice to the coil. Hope ya get it figured out. I haven't had a cigarette in so long now, if my PV crapped out. . .I'd prolly just drum my fingers and smell a cinnamon stick. Good luck.

Cheers,
otrpu

Fort Sill Ok.
Get a REO. No muss no fuss. No fiddling with dripping or crazy attys with pins and carts. Just 6ml of juice an 18650 and an Iken atty and youll be vaping like a nuclear reactor. The cost hurts at first. I've said it before I'll say it again... " Buy quality you only cry once, buy crap and you'll cry all the time." (My grandfather was a genius.)
