Over the years I've developed a "rash" of sorts along with welps and sore joints and swelling. I've been tested for everything and nothing shows up. I've seen a Dermatologist,ENT,rheumatologist, immunologist and been thru the allergy clinic. They put me on prednisolone, med pack, all kinds of allergy pills. I was on the prednisolone so long I had the moon shaped face! I finally stopped all meds and started taking 4 benadryl everynight and shazaam no more symptoms. The doctor's couldn't find ANYTHING wrong, so I figured the worst that could happen was I'd sleep good ;) I haven't had this anomaly happen again since.............my dr calls it the GOK disease. (God Only Knows)

My daughter had a rash from being a strep throat carrier she only had it one time, but her ankels swelled up and they veins were bright red. I freaked out, she was only 10, the doctor knew exactly what it was.

Glad you figured it out! I was going to post about "are you on antbiotics?" - My granddaughter went to the pediatrician today- her mom called my son and said she had a rash - all over - started on the tummy - was even on her scalp - she called the Pharmacist who she said told her that's not an amoxcyllin (sp) reaction - and I said - bet it is! My daughter broke out in a rash when she was 3 after taking her last dose of amoxcyllin - and it is a pennicillin allergy (unfortunately the list has grown much larger as to what she's allergic too antibiotic wise - same with my mom) - anyway - she was told to give her Benedryl and call in the morning and report in - she did, she did have to take her in and my son called me and said it's the antibiotics! So now her chart will be marked - have to remind my son to tell the pharmacy to mark her file too.

Must have been some kind of loation he put on his face and beard. Sure glad to hear you found out what it was that was causeing your rash, did the Dr give you anything to help with the itch?

Steroid cream but the benadryl cream works better, go figure. Yeah I got a clean dog and clean sheets out of the deal...wasn't worth it though.
