Hi everyone. It seems I am at the other end of the scale, because I don't want the nicotine!
Weird hey, but after giving up my 50-60 a day habit 10months ago, I could easily go back to it any day, any time, which would obviously be a stupid thing to do.
I stumbled across these e-cigs on the web, and guess this must be my best alternative. But I don't want to start with nicotine cravings all over again, so I want an e-cig but with zero nicotine. For me right now, it's more of a head thing, as I still crave the act of smoking.
I've read and read and read, a bit too much.... I'm more confused now than before. Which make? which model? which part no? recipies? Oh boy, my poor old brain is swirling.
So......can anyone, in layman terms, please advice me on how, where and what I need, to start enjoying a nil nicotine e-cig?
Ps, Dusty, your videos are excellent, very helpful for when I actually get started.

I'm a newbie myself. Welcome to the forum.

I'm experiencing a bit of the same confusion but it's placated in the knowledge that I'm finally doing something to rid my body of toxins that come with cigarettes. There are many qualified members here, but I can address a couple questions and offer a novice perspective.

But I don't want to start with nicotine cravings all over again, so I want an e-cig but with zero nicotine.

Zero nicotine is ejuice and cartridges are readily available from virtually all ecig vendors.

Which make? which model? which part no? recipies? Oh boy, my poor old brain is swirling..

There's nothing like having too many choices, huh? I was introduced to e-cigs Monday (5 days ago). The concept is really very interesting, but like yourself I was'nt sure what to try. Everything I saw seemed to require an initial investment of about $150.00. njoy was the first site I stumbled upon that offered a starter kit for under $100 (I wound up paying about $85), so I went with them.

After that, it was merely a question of what style of ecig appealed to me aesthetically. I narrowed my choice down to "other than white" to minimize being hassled for "smoking" in non-smoking area.

If you spend a couple hours this weekend reading the various threads and asking questions, I'm sure you'll have no problem narrowing your choices down.

Have a great weekend!

Hi potroast, Personally I would avoid the super mini's (look like a cigarette) for a new user, they are a pain to fill and the hold next to nothing so you are filling constantly. I recommend a penstyle to start with (DSE801) and a passthrough if your at your computer a lot. I can't say about the DSE901 because I don't have one. I have a couple Janty Duras and though they have some leaking issues they have a good hit and are very portable and hold a lot of juice. The Joye 510 titan is the same as the dura and has had less reported issues. I have a Mini-pipe (lady's pipe) and it's the best of my collection due to it's using the 801 atomizer and replaceable batteries. Search the forum and see all the reviews for more info. Also you can go to E-Cig Review: The Place for Non-Biased Ecig Reviews and E-Cigarette Discounts for info and reviews.

As for venders, I use Puresmoker, Janty and Bestecig.

For someone who hasn't been smoking at all.... if you really want to use these then I would say make it the cheaper, easier to find model, the 901 mini-style (aka DSE901 aka RN4075). You don't want to revert to constant hand-to-mouth when you've been off it I don't think, so I would NOT get a passthrough that you can use like a pacifier. Just get one kit to start with, either a dual (2) atomizer kit or add an extra atomizer, and some zero-nicotine carts. If you decide it's for you, then we'll hear more from you! :)

There are lots of good sellers on here... the ones mentioned, also e-smokeytreats, thesmokelessshop, cigtechs, altsmoke, vaporguys, you can see them in the Suppliers section.

Hello Potroast!

I quit 2 and half months ago, and I feel like I could start back up on the analogs at any time. I know that, for myself, it's somewhat psychological and want that "feels like a cig" look and feeling.

So, I went with the "Super Mini" (aka JOYE306A, "Janty Mini Fogger") from vaporguys.com even though a lot of people say that the Super Mini's are horrible but I like the fact that they are the closest thing to an analog in look and size, etc. I figure I can work my way up to something larger if the Super Mini doesn't cut it. I'll be getting it in the mail in the next couple of days and I'll be back to do a review, since no one seems to have done any reviews on the JOYE306A. The most prevelant model of the "Super Mini" seems to be the RN4801 but from what the guys over at vaporguys tell me the JOYE306A has an improved design, so I went with that.

I think the most confusing part about it all, is different distributors use different model numbers or designations, and many of them look alike or the images on the site are small and low resolution.

From what I can gather is that there are only a few (DSE, RN, KR, JOYE, ???) major manufacturers, all based in China. The distributors than buy in bulk from these guys and sell them. Some distributors add customizable branding to the packaging and some of the components (ie, Janty, Instead, etc) and some don't. It's very similar to electronics, or private label grocers in some aspects.

Good luck on choosing and staying away from those nasty (but oh so tempting) analog cigarettes!!

I was in your shoes 2 weeks ago - I finally decided on a DSE901 - good starter ecig. There's a plethora of them around, and most of the suppliers also sell juice...Pick a couple of flavors to try...

I would agree with the others who've replied on vendors - the ones they've mentioned are all well recommended here.

Once you get your initial equipment, then decide where you want to go from there. A lot of the info in the forum will make more sense once you've got a personal vaporizer of your own.:p

All of this is good information - my only recommendation is, fund prevailing, you may wish to consider purchasing two different units. I purchased a penstyle and a 103 (and I just got my e-pipe) and utilize all of them. I would have to say that I enjoy the penstyle for the office (at my desk!) and the 103 for when I go out. The pipe was just a luxury I got at the right price but I've smoked a pipe for years so the novelty was there.

Either way, advice here is solid - mix up your flavors a little and keep some spare parts around. I'd also recommend that you visit the tips/tricks threads for helpful information on cleaning your new prized possession to keep it working well.
