Anna, I am sorry if I gave the impression that I was looking for a MTL. I am not, I am looking for DTL and not sure if the innokin kroma is a DTL.

Susaz, I really would be vaping 0g nicotine and flavor is the most Important thing for me from the vaping experience. If this means that I have to build my own I will, if this is true help me build it easiest mod plus bets tank for flavor inexpensive coils that are ready available.

If the same great flavor can be achieved through a device like the uwell nanchaku I will get that. But flavor is the most important.

Also, do you all buy from the two stores you mentioned or anywhere else, cheap if possible with genuine products.

In regards to batteries.

Some of us experienced vaping with potentially unsafe chemistry batteries back before complex mods and safer IMR batteries. The risks were already low with a good charger and the newer batteries lower that risk further still.

Take that level of risk and consider many battery incidents are caused by human error and we are talking miniscule risk.

Personally speaking, I trust an inbuilt battery less than quality branded batteries charged externally. You know what battery you have and can see physical defects should any occur. Some inbuilt batteries are old chemistry and potentially the manufacturer might cut corners with a 2nd rate or even less reliable cell.

... anyway... enough of that.

Good luck! :)

Woah sorry about that, it was probably my error. IDK much about DL starter kits honestly, you are much better off without my output.

The majority of my buying has been through China. VapeDNA sometimes has stuff you might want, for reasonable prices. IDK. I was not a fan of Eightvape, but probably every person here has like, horror stories about particular vendors they had a hard time with. It happens.

I guess you could use vapecrawler.com and limit your search to "United States" to get a LOWER price, (not necessarily "the lowest" vape stores pay vapecrawler a commission at times to rid themselves of gear or overstock) but it might be a place to start. I always found "finding what I wanted at the lowest US price from like, google, to be time consuming and whatever. Honestly if you can find what you want (sorry to be zero help there) well a lot of vendors here are having labor day sales, so it's probably a good time to check out US vendors here who are having sales and you at least have access to them easier on the vendor forums if something goes wrong.

Once again, my apologies but I'm not going to try and make it up to you by trying to figure out what would be "the best" DL starter kit, I would have NO clues. To me it's all "too much vape
or WAY too much vape or I can't breathe amounts of vape so I will just say, "Good luck etc."

Anna

I am seriously extra ditzy today, I'm sure you did NOT give that impression.

Anna, no worries, thanks for providing the help though.

I got tired to researching and ordered the Uwell nunchaku that Susaz recommended, I am also ordering the battery and the charger he recommended. Someone on reddit said that the Sony and Samsung batteries are also good, any comment?

My thinking is if i like the starter kit, i will but the freemax mesh tank (hopefully it fits) or buy a second unit. I actually do want to start my research now, so any input would be great.

For the second unit, I want it to be more rectangular than pen like.
would the innokin proton be something plus the freeman mesh tank, will this be compatible with the batteries I am getting for the Uwell?

preferably i want to get something where I can use the same batteries between the devices. Also for the next mod I am looking for something with more statement, and flair.

Please give me your recommendations.

All batteries are gonna work in your sub0hm mods if you are vaping them near the same wattage.

There are lots of excellent two battery box mods out there. The one I'm recommending at the moment is the Ages Legend unless you get all deep into TC (I mean the TC is more or less okay, but if you want DNA TC, well you need a DNA mod). But yeah there are tons of great external battery setups and by then I bet you will be craving a 2 battery mod, but honestly don't you have some time?

I guess my recommendations would be two fold a) probably any subohm vaper can give you better advice than me b) why not just vape what you have for a bit and then you can say more about what you like/dislike about the setup and folks can give you better recommendations about what to get, based on your first purchases.

Unless you plan to step up to another setup in the next two days, I think you are getting ahead of yourself. Seriously I rarely comment about sub0hm stuff, that is how little I know about it. Well, I do recommend the Crown Uwell original tank because it's one that its owners universally seem to like but now there's all this mesh business and I'm just seriously lost. I have no clue what you'll like.

Believe me when I tell you that Crown has the ABSOLUTE BEST FLAVOR COIL HEADS IN THE SUBOHM ARENA. I'm a restricted lung hit vaper so I have to close the Nunchaku down by half, it's airy and plenty of flavor. That said, mesh attys also depend on liquid viscosity (they like thick eliquids, 70/30 or so) so that they don't leak. Flavor wise, I like the Nunchaku better and the coil heads last a long time.
Mesh coils are not the only great flavor players. I have on the mail this and I'll report back on flavor

The box mod won't be an issue. Get any one that suits your style.

You can move batteries around, no problem.

Don't bother with Sony batteries. Samsung are as good and cheaper. LG are up there too.

Sony get rated because they have often offered a high amp battery but the trade off is price and time between charges. Most vapers don't need the highest amp batteries. I have (2 of) the new Sanyo 3,400 and lots of 30Q and LG chocolate.
There's only 1 solitary Sony in my collection. It's for a mech mod. I also have 25R which were bargain prices and plenty powerful.

Again some good suggestion I already have the pocket x and now will try out the uwell nanchuku as recommended here and see how I like it and then get the third one.

I have a few questions on the picket x

I tried a coffee flavor and the tried a fruity but the coffee flavor is not going away so I changed my coil the second one that came with my packet. It has a 1.2 ohms and the one that came installed was 0.6 ohms.

I have not had much success with flavors from everything I tried in the vape store. Except for a mango and grape flavor a company called theory labs. It tasted so good in the store but at home on my device it is subtle and occasionally I will feel the same sweetness I felt in the store, I could feel a sweetness and taste it on my lips and mouth. But not the same experience with my pocket x.

However, with the 0.6 ohms I was getting atleast some but last night after changing to the 1.2 ohms coil i am getting very subtle flavor.

I don’t understand the coil ratings and their relationship with then device or how it may effect the flavor.

Can someone help me explain what is going on here and also why I can’t taste juices in general. I even ordered a few samples from vapewild and everything is subtle.

Maybe Vapewild go easy on the flavor or they freshly make a lot of juice that needs time to mature/steep/improve.
The really tasty stuff is very high in flavor. There are liquids out there with nearly 30% flavor, although the brands often deny this.
Then there's vaper's tongue to consider.
Swap flavor often is my best advice and don't worry about leaving some juice in a box for a month or 10! :)

Haha 10 months, I will try a few weeks. I don’t have much juice and I want to try new stuff but don’t want to spend money if I don’t get the flavor. The mango juice that I got the most flavor was bought from the store so it was sitting there not sure how long and also theirs was 80/20 ratio.

Quick question about 0g nicotine, since I only vape 0g why do the labels still say the product has nicotine.

How safe is vaping. Kinda going in backward in asking this question. Lol

Flavor chasing is very complex thing.:) You can taste the same juice in vapor shop and after buying that flavor experience very muted flavor in your device... and reasons for that phenomenon can be many...

fresh coils have so called "break period" it will take sometimes full tank of juice before you can experience full flavor... different tanks and different coils will provide different degree of flavor...some tanks have smaller chambers and smaller chimneys that will condense vapor but bigger chambers/chimneys dilute flavor with too much air... usually bigger chamber can be compensated by using lower ohm coil and higher wattage but this cause hotter vape and huge clouds...

Some coils provide better flavor than others even in the same tank... if coil cannot get enough juice to saturate cotton first thing that is sacrificed is the flavor and in extreme situation that leads to dry hit...

vg/pg ratio of your e-juice affects how fast coil wicking material saturate so viscosity of your juice can affects flavor in your device differently from that you were tasting in shop.

Ohmsvapes has sample juice boxes. You pick your flavors for 6 bottles and you can select "Flavor Boost". They also have a pre-steeped line of juices. They make great juice at the best prices I've seen on line. If you're going DTL you should use subohm coild, subohm meaning the coil resistance should be less than 1ohm like your .6ohm coil.
Also I saw somewhere in this thread someone disparaging Vaporesso Mods. I have 8 mods from Vaporesso and they all work great. At one time they had a brass coil that was pretty much useless and many complained about it. They fixed the problem by coming out with the EUC coil which work great (especially the Ccell IMO). I just bought two packs with 5 coils per pack at $5.95 ea.
Every tank I have works great for taste and cloud production with the cascade baby being the best. If you can wait a few weeks Vaporesso is coming out with the new LUX mod with an SKRR tank. The mod has a touch screen that will probably work very well. The SKRR tank has a new feature that will prevent spitting. The tank can use any of the GT coils plus three new coils designed especially for this tank, a mesh coil, a strip cell and a Ccell (Which can be used in TC mode) You can take a look at it at Vaporesso.com.

Just when I think I'm getting my shinyitis under control, they draaag me back in.:-x

I am slowly learning this, my aspire pocket x came with the 0.6ohms coil and I could at times get the flavor. When I swapped the other coil 1.2ohms now I don’t even get that flavor I was getting before.

Can I talk about vendors.
So fasttech is mauled from China? And is cheaper?
Right now I am seeing the replacement coils for my pocket x cheaper at vapewild but I have to pay shipping and at fasttech its $3 more but free shipping. Should I stock up?

Also kinda bummed that my vape store sold me the pocket x for $35. I am seeing online for $18. Not gonna do business with them.

Coil resistance = ohm rating.
Heating coils are rated in ohms (resistance) and should be available in different ohms to suit your personal preferences. The coils will have recommended wattage ranges for best performance. For example:

  • 1.2 ohm Single Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Coil - 10 to 30W
  • 0.5 ohm Dual Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coil - 30 to 80W
  • 0.25 ohm Dual Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coil - 80 to 120W
  • 0.15 ohm Dual Ni200 Nickel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coil - 400 to 600 Degrees Fahrenheit (temp control only)
Notice that sub-ohm coils (resistance lower than 1.0 ohm) will require higher wattage settings. Coils are made from different types of wire; some are compatible for Temperature Control while others are not.

Lower Ohm Coils Will:
  • Heat The Coil Faster
  • Produce More Vapor
  • Drain The Battery Faster
  • Use E-Juice Faster
  • Produce A "Warmer" Tasting Vape
Higher Ohm Coils Will:
  • Heat The Coil Slower
  • Produce Less Vapor
  • Provide A “Cooler” Tasting Vape
  • Use Less E-Juice
  • Prolong Battery Life
All juice delivery devices (tanks) and their coils will differ in how they produce vapor and differ in how they deliver flavor. That may explain why you liked a flavor in the store and it was different at home.

Sometimes it takes weeks or months to find our vaping "sweet spot". Factors in finding that sweet spot includes finding the right vape gear, the right e-liquid, and the right wattage setting. It comes via "trial and error" and experience.

_________________________

Most new vapers have "vaper's tongue". Especially if you were previously a smoker, your taste buds have been damaged from years of smoking. In most cases, your taste buds will repair themselves over time once you have totally quit smoking. Tip: Exhale some of your vape out of your nose. Our sense of smell contributes to our sense of taste.

If a product is used on any type of e-cigarette, it is "assumed" by the FDA that the product has nicotine. I know, it doesn't make a lot of sense, but it is what it is.

Brick and Mortar shops are likely to be more expensive than on line stores. They are normally there when you have a problem. Online shops are usually there when you have a problem, but that's not 100%. Fasttech usually takes 3-4 weeks to deliver. Eightvape has a store in Las Vegas and have really good prices, I've ordered from them several times without any problems and the items usually get here in a week. I know some have complained about Eightvape, but that hasn't been my experience. I'll pay an extra $3.00 to buy American and get my stuff in a week instead of a month. They (Eightvape) have the Amour Pro with the Cascade Baby (which I spoke of before), for about $45.00 and all the replacement coils are about $6.00 for a pack of three.

I'm not saying you have to buy vaporesso, but you can use these for comparison at any online store you go to. I've checked a lot of online stores using this method. If they are much higher than these you should probably leave. Or if you decide what mod, tank and coils you want, search for what you want, go to all the stores that have the item. Write down the name and the price of your item. Then you can come back here with your list and start a conversation about the item and price. If you mention Amazon, Ebay or Vaporfi, standby for a verbal beating. It will be an unpleasant experience. :danger::evil:
Once you get your mods going, and get an idea of the flavor profile you like, learn to DIY your own juice. It is sooo much cheaper.

Also save the empty bottles of your juice, you can reuse them when you do start DIY juice of your own. 10ml are great for sample runs.

Ok, I already bought the uwell nanchuku recommended by Susaz. I found out that eciggity is having a 15% off and want to buy a small mod and a nice tank ( freemax mesh pro) and coil ( are mesh couls expensive and are they easily available from us vendor).

Anna, I know you suggested to hold off buying anything now and trying the one that I got. But I want to take advantage of the sale, because the next sale most like will be in nov.

So, if I were to buy something now, what would be a good mod, that’s not too big, has a nice design (btw I have seen anything that I have been wowed by so far) aren’t there any with marvel superhero design or covers etc. Something that I can use any of these popular tanks on with or without batteries.

I think I will end up with quite a few of these things the way I am obsessing with this forum.

Hi all,

I am new to vaping and first post here. I am really lost and confused and would appreciate some help.

I got stared last week and got a aspire pocket x as I wanted something small and portable.

Now as I am learning more, I found out that it doesn’t have much lower and not ideal for flavor.

I want a simple no fuss device that is not too small or too big but can provide me with the best possible flavor.

I want it to be easy, I don’t want to rebuild anything, something where I can change the coil and go.

I will be also vaping occasionally, and store it for a couple weeks, so no leaks etc. I also would take it around when traveling.

I have heard that tank is the most important for flavor but not sure if I need to purchase the mod ( btw is that body) and tank ( which hold the juice ) separately and do I also have to buy coil or the tank comes with a coil?

Or do I buy an AIO device? Which come with the mod and body.

I also don’t want to be constantly change temperature etc, just set it once and be done and enjoy vaping.

I also went back to the vape shop to try flavors and found out that there were only two flavors that I liked and could not even taste the other flavors all were muted.

So please recommend me a device
Buy a smok resa stick and some mesh coils. Its super easy to use one button and produces great flavor. Pretty small but not too small. I take one to work and keep it in my pocket.
