I got an Igo L clone as my first rda. I love it! I now have a Tobh and a 3D on the way to me! The Tobh is going on my Nemi and the 3D is going on an iTaste 134.

Currently the Igo L is sitting on top of an eVic, and the hole is drilled out before you ask. :D I have it wrapped with 28g Kanthal, registering 1.2Ω, wicked with organic cotton. eVic is set to 3.1V, 8W.

What can I do to get better flavor and vapor production with the current set-up? This tends to be my everyday, carry to work device.

Can post pictures at work unfortunately. HIPAA controlled PC's.... lol Wrapped 28G around a small drill bit (7 wraps), can't remember what size honestly. The coil outer diameter is slightly smaller than the ink tube in a Bic pen if that helps. Coil is at post screw level off to the side, air hole directly in front of it.

Just a quick suggestion, make sure the coil is as close to the air hole without touching the cap and just off the deck of the atty. The air hole is right at the edge of the lip of the inside drip well.. Something like this... Do keep in mind this is an old pic and I had way too much of a cotton tail in there...

That is basically how mine looks, slightly more inwards. Should I be going with higher or lower volts for the best flavor? I know that different juices shine at different levels, but I just want a good starting point. Remember that the eVic adjusts my wattage based on the volts I set it at. My iTaste 134 of course is just VW. When I first got the rda I was blown away with the difference in flavors, now that I am getting more used to it I guess, it doesn't seem as flavorful anymore. lol

Also I have seen that some people put a bed of cotton under the coils instead of through it. Is this better or just some peoples preference?

personal preference, I hate it personally. I use peaches and creme yarn from walmart. Feed it through the coil and lay the tails on each side of the coil. wicks great and the flavor is good. Also doesnt seem to kill you on a dry hit like the puff balls do.

Get that coil right in front of and centered on the air hole first of all. That is what I have learned in my almost 2 year experience with the Igo-L. I have never really owned a regulated device before, (used a kick in a mechanical a while back), and only vape one type of juice but from my understanding of what I have read is that fruits and sweets like lower watts than tobacco's... I believe the fruits and sweets, iirc, vape best at around 8-10 watts and the tobacco's at 12+, if that helps at all. Main thing here is to get that coil in the right position and getting good air flow. What size did you drill your air hole out to? I had mine drilled to 1/16" for quite a while but now I have opened it up to 5/64" because I'm vaping in the 18-20 watt range... The bed of cotton most people use is with a nano type coil that you can't actually get any cotton into to be able to vape well enough. They just won't wick fast enough. Rule of thumb is less is more when it comes to cotton also. The pic I posted had a very long tail on it and now I cut off the tails at about 1/4" on both sides of the coil. It helps that I vape it on a Reo because its easy and quick to get juice to it, like dripping without actually having to carry an extra bottle. The bottle is on board inside the device. I hope some of this info helps you out...

Make a new coil 1.5Ω-1.8Ω so that you can turn the voltage up without hitting eVic's low amp limit. You're right around the amp limit where you are.

I use ekowool but for heavy feeders (which my IGO-L on an eVic is not) I like to run some through and have the coil sitting on a bed of wick.

1.5Ω micro coil ribbon with a single strand of 1mm ekowool has been my best build for IGO-L on an eVic until I went with 1.6Ω twisted ribbon of the same build and wicking style.
