Help with cartridge filling (tea bag)

I've been trying and failing and I don't know what i'm doing wrong. I'm using Lipton teabags but it just doesn't seem to work.

What would greatly help is if someone posted a few pictures of how they do it so I can see exactly what i'm doing wrong.

I have the M401 and the NPRO

I would think the teabags only work on the penstyle. I have both and wouldn't think you could cut it small enough for the Pilot.

Get Tea bag, Just Cut It an edges off, Empty Tea Out, Lay It Flat, Roll it Up (Not To Tight), Insert In Empty Cart, Cut to length (a little shorter and make a center hole in it for the air), Add some juice & Go!

i can't get it to work well on an m401. I roll a long strip of teabag, get it loose and evenly fill the cartridge with it, and completely fill it with juice. It gets good contact with the wick... but performance just isn't good. It will wick enough juice for a small drag, then i have to wait 10 seconds until another small drag is ready.

This is very distressing to me... the substance that i've been doing the best with is fluval. But making good carts is difficult, error-prone, and when you use the ideal density, it collapses and becomes a plug next refill.

The only suggestion I can give is to keep trying a 'shorter' length of tea bag to roll up..it's surprising how 'little' it needs but either way try various amounts until you find an optimum for your particular cart......once you have found that you should be able to keep repeating it easily. Other than that perhaps it just doesn't work in some carts.

If it's too loose it won't hold enough liquid to be useful and if it's rolled too tight it won't wick well.

If anyone is kind enough to take a picture of their carts with the best length/size of teabag, I would GREATLY appreciate it.

One shot before you roll it up, and one shot inside the cartridge.

No pics, sorry. But I did find using a flat toothpick and rolling very loosly works best for me. I will never go back, love the teabag.

Today I am experimenting with taking a piece of teabag, and twisting it loosely instead of rolling. If the twisted thing comes out longer, you just cut it off. Not sure how it works yet, but I'm thinking it's working better than my rolled teabags.

I am with you on this one..I tried two today, and wasted some juice..I think I am going to go with the poly...and quit stealing the tea bags out of the break room.

I've used the teabag with a BE112, 4075 and 501. I do all the same way.

1) I gauge the depth between the top edge of the cart and the bottom of the cart.
2) I cut the teabag in a strip thats about an 1/8" of an longer that what I measured.
3) I roll the strip loosely, you simply have to experiment to get what loose is, untill I have a roll just smaller than the inside dia. of the cart.
4) Insert the roll with a slight screwing motion so it seats all the way down and stays in a roll.
5) With trusty paperclip 'pick' inserted in the center of the roll I then unwind/loosen the roll inside the cart.
6) Cut the excess off. Leave this approx. 1/16" longer than the cart. As it absorbs juice it will swell, compress and form a perfect dimple that remains in contact in with the bridge.

Having said all that I switched to papertowels 2 days ago and as well as the teabags worked the papertowels seem to work better still. Set it up the same way as described above. Again, I've used this in the models I mentioned earlier with great success.

Has anyone with a 901 been able to smoke all the juice out of their tea bags? So far I've tried everything from half a Lipton tea bag to something like an 8th of one and it seems to stop vaping after 20 or so pulls even though the carts remain full of juice.

Better than the 10 or so quality pulls I'm getting out of standard cart filler but still very disappointing and makes my daily routine far more complicated than I'd like.

I tried the teabag in a rn4081(smokestik). Used 2.5 inches down to 1 inch and it just doesn't work well. Might be the type of paper the teabag is made from. Tried paper towel in a 901 and it worked very well. Will try 901 and teabag later and post results. This time I'll make some pg/flavor/nonic so I don't waste any more. Hate losing a drop of eliquid, and saying, damn that's a few good puffs wasted.

I cut the top 3/8in off of a Lipton tea bag to remove the staple and pleated corners. The tea bag will flop in half and you will have a 3 to 3.5 in tube with tea in it with a seam running the length. I dump the tea and open the seam. I then cut the seam edges off in case there is a glue there. I do not believe there is but why chance it.
For my 801 I fold the paper along the 3.5 inch length and cut about an inch inward fronm the fold so that I have a length of paper 3 to 3.5 inches in length by 1 inch when folded or 2 inches open.
I then loosly roll this up and with a twisting motion insert it into the cart. I am not twisting the paper just rotating it into the cart. I then cut it flush with the top of the cart.
For my Super Mini I do the same length with no fold so it is just a 3.5 inch strip of paper. Insert in the same manner and cut to length.
I have dripped liquid directly onto the cart with success and I have used a dental syringe to fill. The syringe is the best.
You can experiment with leaving a hole in the center of the paper making it more straw like or cutting a v in the end so that it hugs the atomizer but you have to line up the groove to get it right.
It isnt rocket science. Play with it.
I will not use poly fill ever again. I have a hypothesis that burnt poly is a contributing factor in atty failure. Besides, it tastes a whole lot better if you get a dry hit.
