Good morning!

Ohms is really best related to what your battery can handle. You don't mention the device, but I build my kayfuns around 1.8Ω, and they're fine for *me* in that range. Wire gauge can have an impact too, especially if your device can't pump enough power to heat the coil "timely". You might have a nice 1.3Ω build with 26g wire, but something like an MVP can't push hard enough to heat the thicker wire for a sufficient vape.

I don't have anything that can handle sub-ohm, but I thought I'd seen somewhere that you have to watch how much heat is getting generated because the deck insulator could melt. But, others have contradicted that.

Build so you don't overshoot your battery's capabilities. Equally important characteristics are wicking and airflow. If you don't wick it well, it will offer burnt or dry hits (which I experience more frequently than I'd like....)

You really can't build a KF much lower than 1 Ohm. You will not be able to feed your wicks for a long time. If you build a microcoil of say 1 ohm with 28 gauge and that on your VS you will be FINE!!!

You can most definitely vape sub ohm on a Kayfun as long as your ID is large enough. For me my sweet spot on my Kayfun plus V2 is between .7-1 ohms which can be built in many different ways. 30awg single parallel with 6 wraps on 3/32 (2.38mm) ID coming out at .83 ohms is one of my favorites on it. I wick with KGD cotton and never get dry hits, I like 3-4 second lung pulls. Vaping preference is so subjective so what works for me may not be satisfying to someone else.

You didn't mention the device your vaping on but I would suggest starting off between 1.2-1.8 ohm builds and see if you like it. You'll find your sweet spot eventually.

If you're using it on both, build it to the provari specs - the DNA 30 can fire much lower, but if you build too low the provari will just say "nope...nope nope nope." I've read it can go to 1.1ohm, not sure if lower, however experiment with your build and have fun :) I run my KFL+ at 0.8ohm and I wick just fine @ 20Watts, any higher and the wick can't keep up, any higher resistance build you shouldn't have many issues with it.
