Ohms is really best related to what your battery can handle. You don't mention the
device, but I build my kayfuns around 1.8Ω, and they're fine for *me* in that range. Wire gauge can have an impact too, especially if your
device can't pump enough power to heat the coil "timely". You might have a nice 1.3Ω build with 26g wire, but something like an MVP can't push hard enough to heat the thicker wire for a sufficient vape.
I don't have anything that can handle sub-ohm, but I thought I'd seen somewhere that you have to watch how much heat is getting generated because the deck insulator could melt. But, others have contradicted that.
Build so you don't overshoot your battery's capabilities. Equally important characteristics are wicking and airflow. If you don't wick it well, it will offer burnt or dry hits (which I experience more frequently than I'd like....)
