Help with coils(Igo-w)?

Alright, well, today I got my first rda after watching lots and lots and LOTS of videos online about them. And I've encountered a problem and just can't solve it on my own so I thought I'd make an account on here(finally) and ask you guys. I would've posted it in the Ask the Veterans section, but it isn't letting me. But anyway, here's the deal. The setup I've got going on is the Igo-W with a clear cap(not sure if that matters) on the Smoktech Magneto with an 18650. I've got a dual coil setup after just not getting much performance out of a single coil and they come out to 1-0.9 ohms(Total resistance. So two 2 ohm coils). Kind of low for a newbie, but I made sure my battery could handle it before putting it my mech. Using cotton wick. The problem is that I'm getting little to no vapor, and what vapor I do get is thin. The taste is pretty harsh and damp. I cough frequently, and no other set up I have does that to me. Not to mention the taste is just. Well. Not good. That problem could just be because the wick hasn't been broken in yet, but I'm not sure. I'm using 100% cotton and I've tried multiple different ways of wicking it to see if that would solve anything. I tried sticking it under the coil and using it as a bed, I've tried wrapping it around the coil, I've tried running it through the coil, running it through the coil and covering a part of it make the coil touch more of the wick, I've done everything I can think of and it's still piddly. I'm not expecting clouds of vapor or anything, but I was expecting it to atleast be on par with a cartomizer. And it hasn't been. A disposable stardust on an ego battery has given me a better vape. They also take a little bit to warm up. I don't know if I'd call them micro coils, but I made sure that they were tight and fired evenly from the middle before wicking. I wrapped them around a piece I broke off of a wire hanger, if that puts any perspective on it. I also made sure there weren't any hot spots. And I tried putting it on an apv I have to see if it was just my battery or the connections going out on me and got the same results not matter what voltage I put it at. I also made sure the airholes were lined up the way they should be so that isn't the problem.

I knew I wouldn't immediately make the perfect setup or anything remotely close, but it seems subpar for the build I did. Any thoughts?

I had the same issue when I first got my RDA. First, remove your wicks and dry burn to clear off any remaining cotton and/or juice. Next, grab your screwdriver, drill bit, or whatever you used to wrap your coils and lift them up to the exact height of both air holes when your top cap is on. Re-wick, prime your coils with juice, saturate your wicks, and you should soon be fogging up the place.

pretty much the same thing as NineToez

For the IGO-W, I like to keep the bottom of the coil open and free from wicking material for more airflow. I also build the coil lined up with the airflow holes. This way I find the open airflow helps me to pull more of the vapor produced and also cools the coil/vapor a little bit so that it isn't too warm/hot for my taste.

I believe I drilled out my airflow holes to 3/32 or 5/64

apologies for the image sizes, I haven't figured out how to post up nice hd images yet w/o the forum saying the file size is too large

Thanks for all the help guys. I left the air holes stock because I don't have anything to drill them out with and the draw was fine to me. I'm also not sure how I'd go about drilling them since the top cap is plastic. I'll have to buy another one to tinker with and try out the bigger holes though. I'm starting to think it might be the connection on the wires. I was messing with them a bit more just now and I noticed they were still a little loose in the positive post. To the point I could kind of tug the wire through either side with a little effort. The negative posts don't have that problem, so I'll try to line it up better on my next build.

Also, just to clarify: The air holes are lined up when they're over the coils across from eachother right? The guy at the store didn't really know much about rda's other than a basic idea of how they worked and all the ones he had set up had the holes almost in line with the posts(end to end, not the positive post). Want to make sure I'm on the right track

Edit: Oh, and when I fire it with the top cap off it's still kind of piddly vapor production. The juice sizzles and pops on the coils more than anything. Like they're hot enough to boil it, but not hot enough to make much vapor.
