Guys,

What is best to cut VG based unflavored nic with? What do you use and why? Some say they use water, PG or even PGA. What are the pros and cons of each?

If you need to know what I'm shooting for and it will help:

I need to cut 30ml of 50mg VG unflavored nic to 36mg. I'll then use that to make finish recipes at 24mg at 70/30 PG/VG. I figure 36 will give me enough to make the recipes and still come out to 24 after mixing.

Thanks much!

:)

I can't speak for anyone else.... and I'm new too. Here's what I found out SO far.

I also ordered VG based nic, thinking I would want my recipe to be mainly VG and I could cut it down using PG or PG/VG and drops and end up at my target ratio.

The first batches I made were :
1. too strong (the nic was more potent than I thought
2. too thick (even using the PG/VG as an additive)
3. I ended up adding more PG to thin it out
4. I just reordered using a PG base.

NOW.. YMMV, of course, and it all depends on what you want, and where you order your nic juju.

What I've also heard on the mixers. With adding :
PG- it helps to boost the flavor
VG- adds the vapor
PGA- adds the TH
water- not sure.. I think it just thins the VG. I don't know the pros or cons.

I've had some H nic xx that was mixed with PGA, and let me say, it def packed a punch!

So, I might suggest, ordering a small batch of nic juice to start and play around with it. See what you like and see what you don't like. Even reading, and having people give you their opinions (which I LIKE and do a lot) still isn't quite the same as figuring out what suits YOU best.

HTH!

If your looking to stay with a VG only juice, then more VG of course :) I dilute VG with distilled water at an 80/20 mix (VG for cutting only, otherwise I use 70/30). I only use PGA for cleaning/steriliztion. Some swear by it to increase TH, I've found that the right nic concentration and good PV's will take care of that all on their own. I'm all for alcohol consumption, but I'm not sure about in the lungs LOL ;)

If your not concerned with the base (as in VG or PG), I'd use PG to cut with as it helps to boost flavor, and takes some of the hassle out of the equation (keeping in mind that MOST flavorings are PG or water based, so careful not to thin out the mix TOO much :))
